Guys I have a problem: I have the P365 for sub compact carry, but it’s just to small and lightweight. Luckily, Sig is here with a new heavier, taller, and longer option. Thanks Sig!
Here I was trying to decide between a Glock 43X and a Glock 48 for a mid-sized light weight carry and the Sig P365XL fills in the blank.
The gun looks awesome essentially a 43x with 15 rnds. Awesome!
Sig continues to innovate and keep Glock and everyone else in catch up mode...
I’ll most likely get this for the wife. The 365 already has little to no recoil, with a longer barrel and extended grip, it’ll be a perfect gun for people with smaller hands. The slim frame and grip, plus the magazine capacity has been the gun I’ve been looking for her. I just hope the trigger isn't set too far forward to where she wouldn’t be able to get a comfortable grip and trigger press.
Also, I’m not too happy with the optics option. I think there should always be backup sights when you’re running an optic. I’ve been to a couple pistol courses where I’ve seen shooters show up with dead batteries, red dots screws get loose from recoil, and optics just breaking. I know some of it is user error, but you should always have backup sights.
All in all, I’ll wait for SIG to fix all their flaws in their generation 1 FIREARMS that their notoriously known for.
At $580, nope. So many good guns at that price point.
If I hadn’t already have the 365 I prob would have gotten this for a range gun. The Rmr is a plus. My 365 1000 plus rounds has been on point. Now I added a green crimson to her I’ll never give her up. Perfect conceal 10 rounds. I had glocks and are great but with this set up isn’t bad. I’ll wait for it to come down in price
Had to add that "XL" engraved on the slide is atrocious......
Sig is trying to keep Glocks head under the water till there's no more bubbles lol Glock looks better tho
This may be the perfect sized firearm in an incredible package. I fully expect the jealous losers to hate it because they own something else and are too poor to buy a new firearm.
Oh man, looks like we've found the guy with a Barrett .50 gauge if i'm reading his name correctly. Chill out guys, he's got all the dollars we don't have.
Soooo you’re a douche bag....
This pistol is changing rapidly for a new release. Does making it optics ready and bigger fix the issues? I'll applaud the magazine design but now its a gimmicky. Apply this to current Sig Mags and bring 15 rounds to 20.
Let’s take all of the novel useful features of the Sig P365, remove all of them, and then sell it as an extra-large sub-compact. GENIUS!
What''s the point of a Glock 19 gen3/4/5?
I'm not a Glock guy & don't own a single one but I know the different gens have different features. This Sig, however, negates all of the features that makes the P365 neat. This P365XL is dimensionally similar to a G19 or P99 but holds 3 fewer rounds. Slimmer, yes, with that long of a grip makes it much more challenging to conceal. Compare the P365 to a 10 round G26 or P99c, then its easy to see what's great about the P365. I had 3 other Sigs but prefer Rugers & Walthers.
Ps I carried a shield before the 48, and the 48 is lighter than the shield with a flush mag in the shield. It is no different from carrying a shield with the 8rd mag.
A challenge to conceal? Then you haven't carried one. Im wearing shorts and a t-shirt in 90 degree heat carrying a 48 and a spare mag. A challenge to conceal it is not. Gen 3, 4 and 5 g19s dont offer any more features then the 365 to 365xl. Longer barrels are features optics plates are features more capacity is a feature. The 365xl/48 is thiner and far more comfortable to carry than a 19 or a 26. The width is what affects comfort. I personally was not interested in the original 365 because it was too small for my hands and I desire reliable hollow point expansion. If I hadn't gotten a 48 id be getting a 365xl....if it is reliable.
I have not carried a P365 or a G48. I've carried a P99c with a 15 round mag before & it was much more challenging than with the 10 round mag. The dimensions are very similar Between a full size P99/PPQ, G19 & P365xl. The 0.1 or 0.2 inch difference in thickness is a non-point for me. The length of the grip is what made my P290rs so easy to carry. That's 1 of many reasons I chose the P99c over the PPS M2 (similar to the Shield's size). I'm about average height & weight & carry at 4 o'clock. Everyone is different. If you can successfully carry a G17L, go for it. Really, my LCR gets carried more than anything though for many reasons.
My last edc was a shield, but before that it was a xds 1.0 sub compact. None of them I would consider a 17l. Carrying a shield with the 8rd mag was the same as the 43x or 48 but it weighs less. Im about average weight and height also carry around my kidney, but I have back problems and a double stack iwb is not going to happen anymore . The shield or similar pistols xds ppq are about as I can go. That said I would carry an lcr, but I think 38spl might be a tad expensive for me to practice with. 8 dollar 9mm has spoiled me.
Add a safety and i'm in...
