Just was notified mine will ship in the next couple of days. I plan to put it through it's paces as soon as the weather warms up a bit and see how it performs out longer ranges for 22LR.

Kinda looks like a competition Anschutz rifle without the high price tag.

Some people a steaming piece of crap. I see an awesome 22lr rifle that a lot of people will like. Given it doesn't cause any functional problems I will like it.

I have a Ruger American Rimfire bolt action 22LR. The RPR's action above looks 'extremely similar', but as I understand it, the RPR has the capability to change barrels, sim to an AR-15. (No such luck with a RAR)
My RAR is the easiest of my (3) 22 bolt rifles to remove/strip the bolt.
The action (once you have a few hundred rounds down the pipe) cycles easily in a fluid motion when compared to the 'up/backward/forward/down' motion of my other (2) bolt 22's. (Savage and CZ)
The bladed trigger shown on the RPR above look eerily similar to the bladed trigger on my RAR,,, The RAR has an adjustable trigger, and it's 'extremely easy' to bring it down below it's OEM range to approx. ~1 1/2~ # pull, with no special tools, no additional parts, or any filing/polishing required. (Search RAR forums to find out how)
Ruger-brand magazines are readily available, extremely reliable and not extravagantly priced. Looks like the RPR takes the same mags as my RAR and my 10/22,,,,,,
Personally, I'm more 'old school', and not a fan of the stock on the RPR, BUT, no matter how it's dressed, I'd be extremely surprised if Ruger somehow 'dropped the ball' on this 22 in regards to function/reliability/accuracy.

Who cares about being precision accurate with a 22LR?
It’s a plinker round and at best, used for shooting rats around the horse barn. If I was going to spend more than $250 on a 22LR, it would be a brass Henry.

A lot of people care about precision. There are a lot of shooting events that use 22lr. This gun looks like it would be a nice entry level target gun. I'll stick to my tac sol 22lr.

A lot of people care about shot placement. As should every shooter. I have several 10/22s that will single hole all day long. Why not use a .22 to work on your fundamentals and save big money on ammo over practicing on your .308 with GMM?

I have a Ruger American Rimfire Target model in 22lr. It is a fantastic rifle and as a bonus it isn't butt ugly like this one is.

Let's see when this RPR will be released and available for purchase in 22LR. Hope Ruger will introduce these in 22WMR and 17HMR as well.

Take down and interchangeability with .22 mag and .17HMR barrels would be nice.

I wish ruger would stop making stuff I have to buy. "Glass filled nylon" chassis as per ruger, aluminum hand guard. How about a 17hmr next?
