Don't bother wasting your money. I ordered 308 from sportsmans guide about 3 weeks ago and it was listed as "IN STOCK!" when I ordered it. Last week I sent then an email asking when it would ship since it still hadn't shipped 2 weeks after ordering. I just got my email response today saying that it's on backorder (even though it was advertised as in stock specifically in the ad and listing) and backorder says expected in September.

I had heard people were having an issue, but figured since they were advertising it was in stock I'd try to order from them anyway. It was a mistake. Don't give them your money.

They don't really have your $ until it ships. I can only say be patient. They can only tell you what their supplier in Russia (or wherever the hell they find this crap) tells them. It is better than saying OOS and unable to order. It would be different if there were other places to find .223 ammo right now but that isn't the case. I had an order in from Brownells for 1100 rounds of IN STOCK ammo. It was canceled the same day. Oh well. Just hope that Hid'in from Biden doesn't get into office. They cleaned out the gun stores when Hillary was supposed to get in. And stock is already at its lowest ever (since I have been buying online). Best to put in for backorder and pray then have no chance at all.

I ordered a case of this brown bear in April of 2012 and I still haven't received it. I just keep getting the emails that the delivery date has been pushed back. So good luck to anyone who orders this.

SG is a joke for any throw away 223 ammo, and NOT just since the panic.
A) The expected availability on this ammo is AUGUST! At least that's what they are saying now, read on...
B) I ordered 2k rounds of in-stock WPA on *NOVEMBER 1st* at a similar price point...Yes, November 1st...WAAAAY before this panic buying started...and I have yet to see the product. A couple days after I placed my order I got the dreaded backorder e-mail (which you better respond to or they will cancel your order) pushing the ship date back a few weeks. Hey, I can wait a few more weeks - I don't NEEEEED the ammo. Well, that day comes and goes and the inbox notifies me of their "new" expected ship date - another month out...low-and-behold that day comes and goes and ANOTHER e-mail pushing back the expected ship date to MID FEBRUARY!!!
ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING ME??? 3 1/2 months (is the most recent expected) delivery time for a product that was "in-stock" on November 1st? Had I known this, I would have gone to Wally World and paid the extra 4-cents per round for TULA when it was readily available.
C'mon SG...get your sh*t together. Personally, I think it's just a ploy to sell their $30/year "Buyers Club" membership.
No, they do not charge your credit card until the product ships and Yes, the price makes this a very tempting offer...just cross all your fingers/toes that you see this ammo (literally) before 2014, if at all with the almost certain legislation that will restrict/ban online ammo sales.
Take it for what it's worth...just passing on my experience and friendly advice from someone who's not "new to the game"

SG is awesome for things they have in stock. I'd never order anything on backorder, but I usually get my orders from them in 3-4 days with free or almost free shipping, even right now in the middle of this frenzy.

I'm in the same boat. I have several back orders with SG and the dates keep moving. I had one that was supposed to ship 1/14. Today the expected date moved to 6/11. I'm sure I'll get that email shortly. Another had a date of 1/29 was moved out to 7/30 last week. Ironically, I received an order today that wasn't supposed to ship until mid-Feb. And their customer service is poor if you have any issues Granted, only one issue so far so not a lot to go on but I have zero expectations that they will help in the future.

Since I don't "need" the ammo, I just look at it as a way to lock in the price without having my CC charged. But I wouldn't trust them to ship anything by the dates listed if I needed something soon.
