Code "MC3" does not work :(

After seeing this post of yours this morning I tested the code and it failed for me also. I reported the problem to the mods. I just noticed they hadn't changed the title for this deal and I tried the code again. Code "MC3" now works for me toward this pistol at Brownells. Give it another try.

These are very tough to come by for the restricted states. S&W.....please release the #13249.

I'm so mad I bought the Canik tp9 elite sc right before this released :(

I'm not regret that I bought the Canik TP9 Elite SC. Lot cheaper, same capacity, great trigger, etc. However, I will be sure to purchase the SW plus in the near future :-)

Got this from Brownells last month. Ordered it Thursday night, shipped Friday morning, and picked it up from my FFL on Monday. Love my original shield, so a better trigger and extra capacity was a no brainer. Paid 2x what I paid for my original shield 1 year ago, but 5 round increase in capacity will be worth it. I decided with the current regime and the way things are in VA these days, I should buy this gun with this capacity while I still can rather than wait for any potential price drop. No regrets, feels great to hold and dry fire, can’t wait to get to the range. Fitting in my existing Kydex holster is also a big plus.

Is it the same width as your original ? How are they squeezing in the extra capacity?

Feels the same, handle is supposedly shaved out, fraction of an inch thicker, maybe? but same front half (fits in my “We the People” kydex holster). Made the mag just thick enough to get full double stack instead of just over single.

One thing I notice is on my 1.0 there is a dimple near the top of the grip, seems like increasing the mag thickness popped that dimple out. (Dimple visible in pic (older shield to the right)). Picture makes the new shield plus look bigger—it is not (significantly), just closer to the camera. Watch YouTube videos for true comparisons—just threw the pic on because I had it.

It’s not a $550 gun. Twice what I paid for my 2.0. Which I carry or my Sheild .45.

Apples to Oranges. The Plus is a different gun. No comparison. The flat trigger alone is a big improvement. Capacity is almost double. 45 ACP are 6rd and 9mm are 7rd. Compare to 10+1 and 13+1 AND the hand grip width is practically the same. The 2.0s don't come close.

I got my P365 for $420 dollars this exact same time last year. Plus a 15 transfer fee. It came out to 435. The market prices aren’t good. Buy if you want to or wait if you know better. Either way it should be about 50 bucks cheaper atleast

Lots of people must agree with you because my local Academy Sports has a couple in the case for $550 and they’re not selling.

By far my Fav of all my pistols and not a bad price as well for this deal.

Is there much size and weight difference from the 2.0?

Glad I waited was going to get the S&W 2.0 shield 9mm. Now this with a bigger mag and compact yes.

*PUBLIC SERVICE NOTIFICATION*
in regards to those in the community voicing their opinions that this pistol is over priced and trash. This is not a gen 1 shield. This is a much more robust, well made, feature packed, higher capacity pistol that is worth more than any gen 1 shield out there. There is no argument to say this "should be $200"..Do your research and homework before making uneducated and ignorant comments. It is my wish to inform you before you make an ass out of yourself trying to compare this fine pistol to a gen 1 S&W Shield. You are welcome!

Now all joking aside this is a very good pistol that really only carries the shield name. I think smith and wesson should have just given it a new branding name as its much superior to the name sake gen 1 models. This trigger is way better. You get a higher capacity. The finish is much better too. The finish is much more resistant to moisture and corrosion. My first gen shield had issues with corrosion from conceal carry and sweat. Basically you can look at it like this. The gen 1 was a good, inexpensive, no frills, conceal carry pistol. This model is more like a "Performance center" pistol with some nice upgrades, a better grip and better finish. It also has a much better trigger to boot. As always I respect your opinion. We are all different in our reasoning, our preferences, our style, our hand size, and I will respect that. I am strictly speaking to the physical and mechanical characteristics of this particular pistol.

They've sold a metric a$$load of Shield's, it's one of the most popular carry guns around. S&W like the Shield name just fine, and "new and improved Shield" will probably also sell like candy-coated crack if it lives up to it's potential... and if they are competitively priced. I hope they fit the same holsters.

Reading some of the comments here lead me to a face palm.

This is a different gun. Apples to oranges. No gen 1 or 2 comes close. Capacity jumps to 11 and 14 rds. Flat trigger. Better reset. Lighter trigger pull. No contest. IMO, I would get the Performance Center. For a few bucks more, it's a monster upgrade. Plus, I get S&W legendary reliability. The 365 and Hellcat never did it for me.

The people who think this is the older version are the reason why everything has warning labels now. This gun is a Sig Sauer P365 and Hellcat competitor. Of course it will cost about $500.

Lol at all the goons expecting this to be a $200 gun. What world do you live in? What year are you stuck in? A 2.0 no safety model 11808 is $450, after tax/ship/ffl you're looking at $500 or more for the standard 2.0 no safety model. Can't believe people are complaining that the BRAND NEW Shield Plus with a flat faced trigger, better reset, 10+1 and 13+1 capacity is $489. People complained that S&W needed to compete with Sig P365 and Hellcat, and now that they finally did, people are still whining. Lol some things never change!

These were great at around $200 2 years ago. Prob wouldn't pay these prices for a shield. But they're probably better than ever now.

I paid $199 after rebate for a gen 1 around that time. Good deal back then and probably unloading them because the 2.0 was out.

RUGEE Max is better IMO

I’ve owned an EC9s and Security 9....oxidized fast tbh. Took care of it and everything.
Brought my SW MP40 with me after carrying the Ruger and it didn’t oxidize in any way. So SW over Ruger when comparing these 2 models

What was wrong with it when you shot it? That’s right you didn’t

1 vote

What's shooting it got to do with a man flippantly voicing his opinion? Need everyone to like the pistol you just bought? Well.. ITS AWESOME! Anyone who bought this is a fucking legend and anyone who didn't just doesn't know shit.

How do you conceder someone who purchased a firearm a "legend? What world are you from? Do you still watch cartoons? Is Elmer Fudd also your legend because he has a shot gun? Your Pathetic.

Hopefully in 3-6 months these will drop to / near 2.0 prices.

1 vote

If you haven't notice, 2.0 prices are pretty high. So why get a 2.0 when the Plus is much better?

1 vote
0 votes

Looks like code "mzb" gives $40 off which in fact does bring the price to $489 but they have a $10 "FFL fee." Total = $499.

Good to know. Still the cheapest I've seen it for so far. Everywhere else has been 550 for them from what I've seen. Not sure that I want to get one of the first ones, just in case something stupid pops up with them, but these look very promising indeed.
