I would buy this over any Glock. I have a P80 and I'm in love with it, and I cannot stand Glocks. I haven't carried my VP9 since I realized how reliable my P80 build turned out to be.

The P80 is for people who hate Glocks for all the right reasons, but really want the legendary reliability. All the best core design components of a Glock are there, and all of the garbage (crappy feel, bad grip angle,) isn't. It's a great thing. However, I'd just go the 80% route, it's not that hard to do.

Some of the ads for the P80 describe it as a blowback design. Is this correct? It's hard to imagine a 9mm in blowback design like a PPK as the recoil would be pretty bad. Anyone know?

School son, go back.

It was an honest question and since I'm retirement age I'm too old to be your son so please don't address me as such. If you don't know the answer then learn to extend simple courtesy to other people and keep your comments to yourself.

Virtually every semi auto pistol ever made is of blowback design.
I honestly cannot think of a single one that isn't and am just leaving that little leeway in case some kid comes in that knows of some rare and random unit that is not blowback design.
A 50AE desert eagle is blowback and the recoil is not that bad, a beretta 85f is blowback and has virtually zero recoil....have no idea why you'd think recoil would be some sort of issue.
BTW, all these AR pistols are NOT really a pistol they are just some hairbrained scheme to get around the SBR law.

Thank you for your response. I have a Browning Hi Power the forerunner of most modern pistols which is of course a locked breech/non stationary barrel design. I also have a Walther PPK which is a true blowback/stationary barrel design with very snappy recoil. Pistols such as the PPK, CZ-82, etc., are commonly known in the gun world as a true blowback design which automatically distinguishes them from most other pistols. I also carried a 1911 while in the army so I know what recoil is which is why I don't shoot one much anymore. I'm of the opinion that a lot of people don't really read these ads but just look at the picture, price and who the dealer is and move on. I'm a detail person so I tend to catch things like contradictions in this ad. It was misleading to me and I would think would be to someone new to firearms. So I guess my question was why P80 would advertise it as a blowback which we now know based on the common definition of the word in the gun market, it is not. Just saying and just asking. P.S. give it another 20 years and that recoil is going to be more of a factor than you think now. LOL. Happy shooting.

I carried a 1911 in the Marine Corp, it didn't kick hard then nor does it now.
I was in the last company to be issued sateen greens and the first company to be issued cammies....we got half of each, that should give you an idea of my age.
I currently own 2 .454 Casulls I shoot regularly, a .44 mag super blackhawk, and my go to rifle is a 338-378 weatherby that has been very highly modified by yours truly, it sits on a rail chassis with a lilja barrel and has a hensoldt scope.
Recoil is a state of mind, if you think it's going to kick it will.
If you understand that rearward movement of the weapon is just a normal function of operation it will never bother you.
BTW, I was a 2112 at AWS.

Recoil affects different people in different ways and I now have arthritis so recoil is now a factor. Camos didn't come along until way after my time.I was 11Bravo, 2nd I.D.

No.
Recoil is static, it affects everyone the exact same (are you going to say a rifle kicks harder because it's a little girl handling the weapon rather than a 400 lb. overweight man ?). The rifle kicks the exact same way, every time.
It's your mind that handles it differently, it's up to you to correct that, no one and nothing can do it for you.
I don't own a finger or thumb that hasn't been broken at least once, if anyone has jacked up hands it's me, you would not believe the scars on my hands alone.
Stop with the excuses, you sound like a whining millennial.
Or, go buy a .25 auto and see if that helps....it won't stop a sick cat, but maybe you can wince enough to shoot it.

And you sound like a know it all horses ass. So I guess that's the end of the respectful conversation I was trying to have with you. Take it somewhere else, I don't need it and I'm not interested.

Sure thing sweetheart, lemme know if your panties get all in a wad.
Not knowing what a blowback operation is, thinking a walther ppk kicks, and then thinking a 9mm kicks is obviously coming straight from an extremely limited knowledge of weaponry.
Stick with BB guns sugar britches and leave the smell of cordite to the menfolk.
psst....you'll probably need to google that
www.google.com if you have troubles with that and from your posts it seems you will.

Whining millennial? When you call people names you should expect it back in return. You started it, I didn't. Find yourself a good psychiatrist. You obviously have some serious insecurities and mental health issues to deal with.

$610 for a pre-assembled “Glockoff”! I though the whole point of P80’s was to do the work yourself and eliminate the FFl process? Or buy a Glock 17/19 for $409 from anyone else...

Where on Earth can you find a Glock 17 or 19 for $409?
