Love Amazon, Lord knows I order hundreds of times/year......BUT, I've noticed disturbing trend of offering low prices (in this case $50) on out of stock items, with questionable subsequent fulfillment.
I actually ordered an IN STOCK Vortex Viper PST FFP scope last years Black Friday for low low sale price of $499 (steal of a deal, right?). NOPE, because even though they listed 8 available at time of purchase, a subsequent email few days later said "sorry, out of stock."
OK, I don't mind waiting a bit, it was gonna be a gift anyway......BUT 6 MONTHS LATER, I CONTACT THEM TO INQUIRE. Their reply is that they (specifically Amazon as a seller) haven't restocked the item, but I'm welcome to cancel the order and buy for $899 from any of the dozen vendors that currently have them available. It's a rare gripe that I've had with them, but that's $400.
And then 3 weeks ago I ordered something from Amazon Warehouse.... get a "you're package has shipped" email..... then the day after "guaranteed delivery date" I get a "sorry that item is out of stock" email.
Anyway, I think Amazon is great, but I'm wondering if as they continue to grow that quality control, attention to fulfillment, and customer service are starting to suffer?

As far as the Plano case, I've got 11 of them in the 42" version. While NOT airtight, they are stellar for rifle storage. Wonderful product. However, if you live somewhere humid, plan on "recharging" your 40 gram desiccant pouches REGULARLY. I live in the desert (average annual humidity 20-25%), and still have to recharge mine about every month.

Also make sure to look for Amazon's warehouse deals. I just ordered a 42 inch version for $58 that is new but damaged box.
