Bought one of these for @$150 a long time ago, was the worst gun I ever bought. (3) safeties. Guaranteed to have a failure of some sort when shooting it. Truly not good for anything. Carry. Plinking. etc. Threw it in on a trade to get rid of it.
Best thing to do is probably get a good one that will last longer
You know you’re in a pretty bad way if you can’t even hang with Hi-Point.
Pot metal pieces of crap. Hot wheel cars are made out of the same crap. Zinc... Save it for it's immune boosting properties, not guns. These aren't worth $50 in my opinion. But as we know "opinions are like A$$holes, everyone has one..".
Anyone have any experience with these? Are they worth a shit? Or should I just save another $160 and buy the Taurus TX22?
I own one of these and mine has functioned just like it should...mag after mag. It's a bit heavy for it's size and has too many safeties (some can be bypassed) but never a failure withy gun. Although I'm a Taurus person and happily own 4 of them, I sure do like my Kel-tec P17 (as opposed to the TX22) for .22 plinking and handgun handling training.
Save-up another $116 and buy the Taurus TX22. https://battlehawkarmory.com/product/taurus-1tx22141-tx22-22-lr-4.10-161-ergonomic-black-polymer...
The TX22 is a HUGE step above the Phoenix. Hell, I'd wait for Hi-Point to come out with a .22 before buying a Phoenix.

I won one of these in a raffle about 10 years ago, came with a 3" and 5" barrel, extended grip mag and flush mag. Definitely a cheap gun that doesn't feel quite right in the hands but I've never had any functional issues with it. As a matter of fact it's pretty damn accurate with the 5" barrel. That being said there's no comparison to the tx22.
