Wasn't very familiar with this AR so I looked it up on Google apparently they're pretty high-end I saw them going for 1700 granted I didn't spend my time searching for the best deal that's just what was at the top

This website is full of bad advice from what I've seen. These are now listed at over $1k for police trade-ins. If you had bought under $700, you'd have a rifle that retained its value five years later. If you don't care about money, then this may not have been a good buy because there are better options with regards to ergonomics and accessory attachments. If you wanted a good rifle that worked, this was a good value.

Any LMT rifle will be expensive. In this case, you’re pretty much only paying for the name. Their Defender lower is a mil spec forged lower that really isn’t much different from any other mil spec lower. Everything else is pretty basic: plastic handguard, A2 front sight, A2 pistol grip, M4 stock, etc. You could spend the same amount on a brand new rifle with more features unless you absolutely need that LMT logo stamped onto your lower receiver.
