I have the stainless Elite, and it's an amazing 1911. I've been running it for a couple of years now. It's one-hole accurate, and completely reliable.

I have the 4.25 in expert commander from cdnn. I've never had any problems of anykind with this gun. Shoots well and I got it on a sale for $439. I do not regret it. My first 1911. Colt is next.

Just an FYI - Guns Midwest has some good deals on Para right now too (April 2016). The Elite Stainless is listed at $629 w/ a "make offer" option (maybe lower). Shipping is $15.

I put some miles on mine. Runs great still. Frame to slide fit is still nice. No issues yet.

It's one of my best shooting guns . It's my nightstand gun. Add a few Wilson combat parts like I did and be prepared to have your mind blown....

Did some shooting with my Para Elite today. I shoot better with this gun than I do with my Colt which I paid twice as much for. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/eduardobibm/Arms/Para_zpsnpentaqx.jpg...

Seems like with the current prices that these Paras are good bang for the buck.

I read a review a while back that placed the Para at the top of the low priced 1911 line up. Above the Remington, Ruger, Taurus, etc.
I'd be curious as to how the RIA would have stacked up but they left it out of the comparison. I'd still get the Para because it's made in the USA but I think the RIA would have done well.

I don't have a RIA but have an American tactical 1911 and the para just feels better. And I happen to shoot better with the para also.

For fellow CA residents... http://www.convertmyrifle.com/products/california-handgun-middleman-service...

Wasn't aware of CDNN's shipping restrictions so I have to wait a few days for the refund to hit before using CRC but still worth the price.

I have this gun in Stainless. Great shooter, very smooth operation and excellent fit and finish. Using this as the basis for a custom build.
