Why would you buy a fake helmet for the same price as a real ballistic helmet? Both are equally as capable of mounting NVG's and for the same price it seems silly to buy the toy. If it was 1/3 of the cost then the class might understand.

You know why it's called a "bump" helmet? Because that's all it was intended to guard against. They originally weren't ballistic rated and most of the ones in service with sf still aren't. That's the whole point. They are lighter and thus more conducive to the "high speed low drag" mindset. Calling this a toy or fake makes you sound like you don't have a clue what you are talking about.
That being said, these are still probably way overpriced given the relatively low manufacturing costs.

That is my point, this should not cost $300+ for a gloried hardhat (with no certifications). If all you need is something this style to hold NVG's then there are countless other choices at a much lower price point.

Hahaha. I know a guy who has one of these airsoft loser helmets instead of an Level 3.... because the real ones are "too heavy".

Some of us with high dollar night vision like a comfortable quality piece of kit to mount our optics on. Kind of hard to use them without a way to secure them to your head.

For $10 more you can buy a real IIIA ballistic helmet AND mount NVGs.

This product reminds me of the AR500 "training plates" that cost more than normal Level III plates and are not rated to stop a 22LR.

Who was that comedian back in the day that said 'But baby, does your head spin around?'.....seems like this might be perfect for the short bus krew.
BTW, isn't a good motorcycle helmet, or for that matter a good football helmet about the same cost or less ? (yep, just checked and you can get either for about the same money and without a doubt they'll offer better protection).

Wonder how many mall ninjas / 3-precenters bought this $300 hard hat thinking it was bullet resistant? I'm mean come on, there is no way to reverse the brain damage ;)
