"These plates are usually reserved for tactical operations or anti-terrorist work where the ammunition threat is unknown..."

Only an idiot would have written something this stupid.

-Ammunition threat is unknown
-So lets wear least protective equipment we can find.

Why would anybody wear plates if they're not rated for rifle ammo? buy a soft vest.

I know, right??? One could buy a soft vest that covers almost the entire torso for the price of two of these and could conceal it without looking like a sumo wrestler. Down side is soft armor does expire but polyethylene is basically worthless if it gets above 140F-ish (trunk of a car) or below freezing.

I'll piggy back off this and say that if you've never worn plates, it's the way they hinder your movement that makes them suck, not really the weight. They mess with the way the rifle connects with your shoulder, they make bending over a painful experience, shooting prone becomes the least comfortable position, etc. that's why it would be better to have soft armor

Pls Note this is 3A - No Rifle protection here - handgun only with a couple of exceptions not worth mentioning.

True, but it'll stop 10mm and 44 mag, and I bet it won't break ribs when it takes a hit. It'll also provide some stab-resistance, is positively buoyant, and weighs the same as CNT soft IIIA. It should be a great option for inside backpacks, etc to afford at least *some* protection.

At this price you would be better off buying a traditional vest being it offers much better coverage of your entire torso and and can be concealed under normal clothing. I would trade my entire trunk being 'bulletproof' and give up less than two square feet of stab resistance.
