I ordered this. It came in 1 week and was much nicer than the last one I ordered here. Not sure why it came so fast but I just ordered 3 more. Hopefully they will be the same ones.

You have better luck than me. I get them probably 60% of the time. And they wear out pretty fast.

I have ordered several of these. Always received mine. About 3 weeks.

I'd forgotten about these. I have one and haven't used it, so I can't comment on quality, but I can say they sent it and I received it. I've decided I won't use it--don't want to risk it breaking and getting stuck in the bore.

I agree with others. They often do not ship and bank on your not wanting to bother getting a refund or complain about a low $ item. Also these are not high quality, but still work very well for a couple bucks. One I got for 22lr lasted about 6 cleanings before the cord started fraying making it impossible to thread through my 22lr and .223.

I bought an "official" Remington one and it lasted about 20 cleanings before it frayed, and it cost me $12 I think.

Amazon used to show "ships from China" on the "view all sellers" page. When did they remove that???
It's pretty obvious to me (but not for the average person) that the 4 week ship time means it's coming from overseas.

Anyway, EVERY SELLER listed for these is a scam seller. None of them will ship you anything at all, and they won't respond to any inquiries. DO NOT BUY.

BTW, i'm sure a lot of people don't know this, but what these scam sellers are doing is scamming your contact info, not your money.

Even thought I can easily tell the scams from the legit sellers, I no longer buy from 3rd party sellers on Amazon unless it is "fulfilled by Amazon".

There has been a lot of bad sellers on amazon in recent months from yes, china. Many are bogus sellers that shut down and never ship. If you are persistent you will get your money back but they bank on you giving in on little $ items and they make out. I had 4 of the last 8 purchases go bad.

I did actually get one of these. Not bad but the so called brass weight is nothing and does not help snaking it down. It takes some effort and working the string to make it through. For $2, if you get it, it is okay.

Just a warning, I ordered five of these back in October 2016, was supposed to arrive before November 28th, but still has not arrived. Just now filed a claim with Amazon. I'll bet the sellers are hoping people forget since these are so cheap, and I did forget until I saw this posting on gun.deals.

Same happened to me. It never arrived and I forgot until a month later when I was checking my other amazon order. Seller does not respond to inquiry either. Had to get amazon refund the money.

I purchased this and then read the reviews below and cancelled my order. Yes, it's only a couple of $$ but I can't stand being stung. Rather pay a few more and not have to worry about it.

It's true they never show up. What's worse is the expected delivery date is like 3 months out so you have to wait 90 days to get your money back. I got burned like the last commenters as well

DO NOT BUY !! from this outfit, you will not receive it.

Buyer beware. I've ordered two of these and they never arrived. I've had to process refunds on Amazon. Take a look at the seller before you buy- many of them have just started. Apparently there's a scam (against amazon) where you get a 2-month shipping window for a package that never arrives. If you file a claim the seller is usually gone and Amazon takes the hit. Not worth it. Order from someone on-shore.

I have no problem buying this if Hoppe's is making theirs in China. Play with fire and get burned, Hoppe's. I'd spend $20 if it was U.S. made by U.S. workers, though.

i can understand that sentiment. but its punish hoppes vs rewarding culture of thievery. to me its more important to avoid the latter because they will rip off any and everyone, including companies that manufacture in usa. buying directly from them just gives them more incentive to perpetuate this behavior

No, I disagree with you. Why reward a US company who makes their stuff in China? If they're going cheap, I don't see a reason for them to pile on their profits. there's not a whole lot of intellectual property- it's a piece of brass attached to a string and pulls a heavier cloth with some brass bristles. Is it really worth $20? No, and they know it, so to make up for others to copy it, they moved the manufacturing to China where the cost is closer to the $2 the rest are charging.

If it were made the US, I'd see paying the difference because the higher cost represents the higher cost of US labor- and the better environmental footprint we have here. Again, them moving to China is cheating and if they want to compete with cheap chinese stuff good for them- and good for me because I have no compulsion to support a company who does such a thing.

I'm not just talking about Hoppes and the boresnake. I'm talking about rewarding the Chinese for ripping off other people's innovations, no matter what the product is.

There are US companies using US labor getting ripped off because of this Chinese bootleg culture. And a lot of people don't care, as long as they get their product for cheap. Though you have a legit reason for bypassing Hoppes, money going to the Chinese is just the same as some cheapskate who could give a rat's ass about US manufacturing.

It just really annoys me that with 1 billion people they can't seem to come up with anything on their own, and how shameless they are about copying. They steal stealth tech, solar tech, corn seeds, logo designs, car designs...I mean wtf why can't they do anything themselves?

I just can't bring myself to reward the Chinese by buying directly from them. I don't need a boresnake that badly.

$2.76 is cheap but the seller Lucky leuc has a 39% rating so Lucky you if you ever get it. I'd rather pay the 50 cents more & go with someone with a 90+% rating.

i got one so far, it looks and feels like a 'factory second' when compared to my hoppes boresnakes. i have got hoppes boresnakes for the same price, but that was a very rare sale. i also got hoppes ones for roughly double the price of these no name ones and thought i had a deal bc of the rarity that i had previously seen them on sale. < and i cleaned them out both times>.

the brass brushes on the no name snake feel very inferior to those on all of the hoppes snakes. when comparing the hoppes and no name .22 cal snakes, the spot that is different is the brushes. my 3 hoppes snakes seem to all be more robust in the brushes. the hoppes brushes are all probably the same length under visual inspection and rubbing my finger over them. the no name one has high and low spots in the brushes. this is both visual and easy to feel if you rub fingers over the area.

i have another no name snake coming, so ill see if i just got a junky one this next time or not.
i have read the comments on these no name snakes here and i cant quite tell if ppl are directly comparing these to hoppes side by side or not, so thats why i posted.
my recommendation: compare for yourself or get one of these as an extra to a good hoppes one. these are worth the $3ish as an extra, emergency, etc. but just keep in mind the brush might be lopsided/nonsymmetrical junk. its highly unlikely that i use the one i received thus far but its highly likely i will roll the dice again if the other one i ordered turns out to be good to go

well the 30 cal no name snake was sitting in the mailbox today: it looks and feels identical to my hoppes 30 cal snake. i have not used it but i eventually will use the 30 cal snake. i didnt measure the brushes but they look spot-on when visually compared to the hoppes.
i will likely buy a few more of these.

I ordered one of these for the sole purpose of comparing it to a real Hoppes boresnake. I'll bet it's garbage. I really don't care either way since it's easy to get your money back from Amazon.

I received this within 2 weeks; it works great and performs identically to competitors lengths of rope and brush for 1/4 the cost. Reduces cleaning time to a fraction of rod and brush and patches.

It amazes me that there are those who manage to find something to complain about.

I received my bore snake the other day, looks identical to my name brand ones. I wouldn't doubt they're the same thing. I ordered a .30cal today.

We all know these are knock offs of bore snake for about 1/3 the price, which is why we buy them. Considering that it is a low tech piece of rope brush weight and string they work fine. Received the 5.56 version and it performs as expected. Will be getting one for other calibers and shotgun as well

You shouldn't buy from these Chinese sellers on Amazon. They are known for selling cheap knock-offs. I just got a Magpul aluminum trigger guard from an Amazon seller named "hihotous" and it is an obvious Chinese imitation piece-of-shit. I contacted Magpul, showed them pictures and they confirmed that it's a fake. By the way, "hihotous" has excellent reviews. Don't trust them.

Good price and shipped rather fast coming from over seas. Ship times were quoted at June 12-16th but showed up yesterday 5-16. So about 2 weeks from order to getting them.

So that was a good sign to me as I was in no rush to get them. A nice little extra was included as well. Thanks!!!

Looks exactly like the pricey bore snakes that I got from sportsmans warehouse.
