Have this scope. It was recommended from an instructor in a rifle class for something simple, quick, sub-200yards.

This one is the fixed 3x. They do make a 3-9x version.
The price here is way lower than I paid (I think I paid about $130 and this shows $90 after some super-coupon thing)

For it's use, this scope works quite well for the AR platform (in .223/5.56) Pretty much for anything fairly close out to 100 yards easy for fast shots. For a person-sized target to 200 yards, hits can still be made quite fast. 400 yards - I was able to make hits, but when prone, going slow, and the instructor next to me as a spotter.

It's robust, but the setup of the knobs are different from other scopes. Once I got it zeroed, it's kept its zero all year over multiple range/practice trips.

Mounting rings:
In the picture is the Nikon rings. They're a separate purchase. But they work really well for me. The mounts are 2-piece and in the picture they have them mounted pointed away from each other. I guess there's 4 ways to put the ring mounts, I did both of them pointing them forward.

Reading other reviews of this scope (I read a lot of them when buying it) some people said that generic rings didn't work for them, but the Nikon rings worked.

It makes zero sense that generic rings won't work on this 1" scope.
If I read an article where the author can't mount a 1" scope with regular 1" rings I'm moving on to another review with somebody more competant.

Have this scope, it’s alright but probably wouldn’t buy again. Kind of a weird duck though.

It's a fixed 3x if anyone is wondering. Also what the hell is with that mounting?

yeah that's a pretty wacked mounting. But if that really is where the scope would sit for somebody's proper eye relief I would have to think that might actually be a more rigid mounting because you now turned a cantilever mount into a triangular fixture which would be stronger.

Most likely it was somebody mounting it up for the picture and they they didn't know sheet about cantilever mounts. ( I now see Gander Outdoors, so I'm betting on the "stupidity" reason.)
