Right out of the gate, FN-America LLC, produces the FN509 Tactical FDE with the company’s U.S. Patent No. 10/352,654 Low-Profile Optics Mounting System ™ which enables the pistol to accommodate more than ten commercially available red dot (MRD) optics. And if that’s not enough for you, not only do can these red dot (MRD) optics co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights but the platform of the FN509 is adaptable to future optic releases without requiring a direct milling of the slide. Nothing says building for the future, like the FN509 Tactical FDE.
FN-America LLC has packed so many improvements into the FN509, including a slide cap used when not shooting with an optic. The cap has raised sight wings that protect the iron sight alignment if the pistol is dropped or bumped.  It also has a textured ramp for racking the slide against a belt loop or a pant pocket.
With its signature 4.5’ cold hammer-forged, stainless barrel and target crown half inch by 28 threads to accept the bulk of 9mm suppressors available, the FN509 not only can accurately fire a round, but can do it whisper quiet.
The thread cap with integrated O-ring designed to prevent loosening during use, is just another in a long list of valued features which places the FN509 in the winner’s circle in the race to develop a premier handgun.
