Bought mine the last time time this deal appeared and am very happy for the price and the case is VERY nice. Is this a $300 scope? No. Did I pay $300 dollars? No. So why would I compare the two? If you want to pay for an Honda don't complain when you do not get a BMW.

Mine showed up yesterday so I thought I'd comment.

No, it's not a "high end" spotting scope. If you need a high end spotting scope, this isn't for you, and you shouldn't expect that at this price point. That said, it works well enough and is clear enough to spot your shots at the range from 100-300 yards and that is my purpose for it.

The scope itself seems built well enough. It's not a tank, but I don't feel like bumping it or a short fall is going to destroy it or anything like that. The stand it comes with is pretty cheap though. Shouldn't be an issue on a still day, but on a windy day I'd weight it or replace it with something heartier.

Long and short - if you need a basic spotting scope for cheap, this fits the bill. If you need more, then expect to pay more.

Not "made in USA" as advertised. Liars suck.

For $40 I think these are a good deal, no way worth it for $100. It tunnels pretty bad at 60x - greatly reducing the field of view, but unlike the other reviewers I am able to focus from 100-300 yards and see .22 holes just fine. Image is a little dark but sharp. Tripod from a year ago was cheap but usable - from the pics it looks like it may have been updated.

i tried a simmons 60X once when it was on sale. it would not focus at 60X and ~80 yards. it was fine for shorter distances like ~50yards though. i have a cheap barska 60x that focuses out to 100yards tho.. so who knows

It's better than nothing but nothing like a good spotting scope.

bought it last time, feels solid to me, case is nice, cabelas makes the rebate nice and easy. optics are what you pay for, haven't used at the range but at home I can tell I will be able to atleast see holes from a .223 at 100 yards

Bought this on sale from Cabela's. Their product page says "MADE IN USA." The case packaging and the scope itself on the unit I received both say MADE IN CHINA. Cabela's product page says it includes both hard and soft cases. I only received a hard case, no soft case.

looks good to go for me, can anyone else tell me other wise?

Bought one last year.

Scope is not very good. Very dim and you can't see .223 holes in paper past about 50 yards. Hard case is nice though and I use it with my new Konus scope instead.

This isn't my experience. It certainly is a bargain scope, but I can see .223 just fine at 100 yards. Perhaps yours is defective?
