Pretty cool. I suppose this is for mini 14 people who are looking to get a suppressor? If they came out with one in 6.5 Grendel, I'd bite. That'd be a versatile rifle.

Not a fan of the Ruger Minis at all. Owned a newer gen tactical model and it was inferior in every way to an AR 15 or AK 47. I think the sell is that it's supposed to be a miniaturized M1 Garand action and I think that baits a lot of folks. To be honest though, the M1 Garand was a high caliber battle rifle of a bygone era, and while it's legendary and I've love to own one, the Ruger Mini is a poor substitute for the real thing firing only an intermediate round. Ruger mags are God awful expensive as well, that's what broke the camel's back for me. I can buy about 4 high quality AR mags for the price of one Ruger mag, and you want the actual Ruger brand mags as most all others have reliability issues.

I don’t disagree with your points, however I will add that a Mini-14 is a significantly less-threatening rifle than the AR for introducing non-gun people to the 5.56/.223 cartridge. I’ve had many anti-gun friends come with me to experience firing guns at the range, and they typically have no qualms about trying the mini. When they learn that the round is the same as a standard AR, it stirs some interesting thoughts inside of their mind, and most have at least questioned their stance on the AR platform. It hasn’t worked out with all of them, but it’s been a great ambassador for the 2A.

I usually regret getting rid of guns, but not the mini 30 in 7.62 x 39 I had. Poor accuracy, substandard reliability, and more difficult to clean. Not a contender in today's world of options. Especially as the previous reviewer said, don't need a 16" barrel for 300 blackout.

What a joke.

$700 for an inferior design and a 16 inch .300 blackout?

Compared to building an ar specific to your wants for under $500 that will be more reliable and probably more accurate, with a barrel length that isn't twice as long as needed for the round it shoots.

Let the mini die, and get your .300 guns in an 8.5 inch barrel, or at least under 10 inches.
