They won't "try" to do anything. They are not affiliated with gun.deals in any way. Gun.deals could say you're buying a gold plated Desert Eagle for a $1.99, but if the page you get linked to isn't that, then that's not what you're gonna get lol. You went to a Cabela's page selling the GI model and that's what you'll get. If you haven't already I would advise cancelling your order if they let you.

Today I noticed that they cancelled my order. No email. No text. Just cancelled. I called customer service to bitch and was basically told that they are not updating their websites with inventory and I was S.O.L.. I usually don't buy guns from Cabela's or Bass Pro because their prices are typically higher than most retailers, but occasionally there is a sale that I can combine with a few gift cards and find a deal. This has happened the past three times that I have tried to purchase a firearm online at Cabela's. I'm done with them. YOU HAVE PISSED ME OFF FOR THE LAST TIME, CABELA'S!

I've had this happen before, not uncommon with Cabela's at least since Bass Pro took over. The first thing to do is print out the web page showing the Rock Ultra FS #51623 with the G10 grey grips. IF the one you pick up isn't this model then ask for the Firearms manager. Show them the DATED Cabela's online web page with what you thought you were buying.

My experience is you will be given what you thought you ordered. Is it a hassle? Yes but never go to the store without proof of what you ordered online. I've been burnt too many times. Now I go loaded for bear and it always works. If Cabela's knows you know what you bought they will make it right, even if the description isn't correct online.

I've purchased firearms for hundreds of dollars off because of their mistake. The key is asking and waiting patiently for the manager. Be polite but be firm and persistent they make it right. Just remember the online pics aren't always accurate but the detailed description can't be ignored. That's been my experience.

*The only problem would be if the model you thought you were buying isn't in stock at the store. If it's not in stock they will offer to refund your original form of payment and you'll go home empty handed assuming you don't want to keep the "GI" model.

The "order online" box on their website had the correct model number for the Rock Ultra FS (#51623) at the time of ordering. It's just not on the invoice. The invoice only says GI model with no model numbers.

Ordered, but I get the sinking feeling that they will try to substitute the GI model because that's what the picture shows. Even my invoice says GI 1911A1 and no mention of the Tac II designation. We'll see.

Man, the cabelas site says GI model. Don’t trust a third party sale site over the site you purchase the gun from. You’ll be getting the GI model. Since that’s what you purchased.

For this price you might as well spend a little more and get a Ruger or a Remington. This is not a deal.

Ruger 1911s aren't actually "1911"s so remember that a there are many proprietary things much like what you'd find on this RIA. I'm not arguing with you on the deal as I would also rather have a Ruger SR1911 vs. this model if I were buying a sub-$1000 1911 but didn't want to grab a Colt or other U.S.-made true 1911

To talk them down like that, you must not own one. I think you missed the upgraded grips, sights, trigger, and caliber part of this pistol. As well as quality that is on par with ruger.

RIA makes a good, reliable gun but it is NOT on par with Ruger. The Ruger just by virtue of being stainless is a cut above not to mention Ruger reliability and service. I've owned both.

They call it a tactical model but it doesn't even have a tac rail LOL. C'mon Armscor, get it together.

I gotta agree with you on this. Master of fact why don't all of them have rails!

The whole idea about "generation I, II, III, IV, etc" is to add these features; and to progress where the customer/ industry pulls you ( buys thru its demands, and where the $$$ gets spent ). So, yes, rails, laser sights (in grips, guide rod, rear sight), ambi mag release (by that I mean double sided), combat trigger guard, etc. There are a few more modern details which this firearms lacks... Let's get one model that has all that we want on it. I'm with you brother!

:). I agree. This is a "1911"...the rail thing should have been figured out in the 60's. We should be on generation 20-something by now!
