I have two of the prostaffs, got them on amazon for around 110$. I have one on my 10/22 and another on my 17HMR. I LOVE THEM. I swear they are better glass then my vortex diamond I have on my AR. But that’s my option

Westernstar, have you reached out to Nikon for warranty? I assume your scopes are suitably torqued and threadlocked; the lense with the reticle rotated within the housing?

Does anyone here have a similar experience or wish to describe their own warranty outcome?

Yes. They sent a new scope and I sold it. Yes on proper torque, etc. The replacement Vortex is perfect. The other thing I discovered was that the Nikon mount that came with it is absolute junk. Design issue , doesn't self align. Had it on an AR-10 and it didn't have enough adjustment to center. Online research showed it to be a common issue.
Shame, I have an older Monarch on a 300 win mag, and it is great, and has never failed me.

Amazon has the prostaff version for the same price.

I am getting rid of the Nikon scopes I have. The quality isn't what it used to be even ten years ago. They'll hold zero, but it can be a bugger to get it to zero sometimes (walking around, going diagonal with just one adjustment, etc).

This is not the Prostaff version it's the cheaper economical model

I'm still waiting (8 weeks now) for cabelas to send me the $40 gift card they advertised would come with my vortex diamondback scope purchase. I can't wait til some scumbag lawyer takes them to town for fraudulent marketing practices seems every time I buy something from them they only ship half my order (the full price items) or flat out lie about promotions.

Did you contact their customer support about it? Once I talked to them I had the card in hand within two weeks.

I prefer Nikon over any other brands except Zeiss.

Vortex just imports their scope from China.

Nikon is a camera brand so they are better in optics.

Your preference is one thing but do some research, Nikon isn’t what you believe It to be.

NIKON SUCKS BALLS.
Go leupold or nightforce. Want a great scope?!!! Then don’t buy this one LOL. I never understood how some guys can spend 1500$ on a rifle and then mount a $200 dollar optic.

These definitely aren't bad but if you spend a few more bucks you could get a Nikon buckmasters that has the finger adjustable turrets that you can reset to your 0. Other than that I can hardly tell the difference between the two.

"The Nikon 3-9x40 Matte BDC Riflescope, even though it has the same waterproof and fogproof features (as pro-staff), does not have a shockproof feature, a nitrogen filling or a sealed O-ring. To learn more please contact Nikon Support." -Nikon

I have an array of Nikon and Vortex scopes under $500 and considering the other brands I wasted $$ on, these and the Vortex are sweet - super clear optics, perfect eye relief and built tough.
