Beware...Midstate does NOT ship there complete uppers correctly. Mine fell out of the delivery truck with the box half way open and poorly packaged.

Hi there, was your upper damaged? If so, did you contact us about it?
We wrap the uppers in about 2" of foam on all sides and ship in USPS cardboard tubes. Usually USPS does a satisfactory job but sometimes they beat up the box pretty good. Unfortunately we can't control damage during shipping, but that's why we have insurance and cover it.

I already did have two of the three gone (to folks who were good with parting them out for barrels) so I couldn't return all of them nor was that offered. I was told I "bought blems" and I got them.... even after I sent you pictures. I was good with new charging handles but you declined that too. I asked you to be accurate in your description and you said you were good with the vague way it was. I don't need a pissing match here. It's done you had your chance and I had mine. People need to know the honest representation of what they might get. Lots of companies doing just what you are hold a bit higher integrity.

When buying from this outfit you need to know that all components on the upper might be blemished and out of spec.ours were built with many crap components. We bought a few of these and the are by a mile the worst for the money. Customer support was the only thing worse than products.

I rarely write negative reviews but this was a utterly waste of money. We have purchased between 50-60 uppers from many different companies last year alone and all were satisfactory EXCEPT MIDSTATE!

Hey jluck, I remember you ordered a 'blem' upper from us over a year ago. Right after you placed the order you called and wanted to add 2 more of the same uppers to that order, for a total of 3. We combined them for you so you wouldn't have to pay any extra shipping. After receiving them you left a negative review on our site without contacting us, stating that the uppers functioned well and had nice barrels, but you weren't happy with the cosmetics of other parts. We actually reached out to you to talk about the issue. You stated that you did NOT want to return or exchange them, but that they weren't what you expected. Basically all the cosmetic issues you mentioned to us were in the product description. Again, you said you did not want to return or exchange them, that they were functional, and you had actually already sold 2 of the 3 from the order when we talked. I don't think it's fair to say that our customer support is bad when we tried to reach out to you and you did not want us to do anything about it at that time. I also feel it's a bit odd that this is coming up over a year after we talked via text, phone, and email... but if there is something you feel like we should do, please contact us directly to talk about it.

My upper went on my PSA lower with no problem, fits well. Everything appears GTG. No problems with any of the parts I can see. I went with the 15" G3 slim rail and feel it was worth the additional $$.
My friend is anxiously awaiting another now. We chose this deal and we live in the same town as PSA!

I could use this AR upper

Get one soon. For best accuracy, go with a fluted stainless barrel. These uppers are much nicer than the PSA uppers. The hand guards are much better than the plastic/delta ring hand guards. I'm getting 1" 100 yard groups with the stainless diamond fluted barrel. Get one before they are gone.

I still haven't taken the 10.5" out to the range yet but as far as being 'much nicer than PSA uppers' I will say so far that the MSF quad rail has already chipped in a couple spots from me putting medium soft rail covers on it once. And the dust cover doesn't shut properly without shifting it a little and forcing it. I think some other people had the same issue, will have to tinker with it when I find the time

I didn't buy this specific item but I bought the ar15 18" midlength free float stainless steel fluted upper from them and took my Hogue handguard kit to them since I live thirty minutes away from them. They installed the handguard on the spot, gave me a discount for not using one of their handguards, and also a buddy of mine got a steal of a deal 18" SASS 308 bull barrel complete upper from them as well. Both work flawlessly. Can't say enough good things about these guys.

I ordered basically the same setup but in 10.5" last week, just got it this weekend. Shipped fast, packaged very well. And, just as all the reviews on their website say, if it's a "blem" I can't find the blem by looking at it. I recall reading something about possible variation in some rail section widths as a possibility with their blems but (per them mind you) supposedly that should mostly only affect 'slide-on' accessories. I've been loyal to PSA and ended up buying that 10.5 deal because someone on here compared MSF's reliability/general experience to PSA. So far so good, but haven't been to the range yet.

I purchased a kit from MSF and although I ran into a few small issues, the people at MSF sorted out the problems quickly, effectively, and at their expense. I'm very impressed at the level of support from MSF. Their prices are just about the best, and quality on par with PSA. I can't see how you could go wrong with an MSF upper or complete kit at that. Their slim keymod hand guards are really sweet. Their diamond fluted stainless barrels are light and very accurate. Kit included a stainless trigger group! You can spend more, but hard to get better.

Do not hesitate to purchase this if you are looking to assemble an entry level AR this is my first build in simply two steps I did not want to buy a over-the-top super expensive rifle. I love the tactical look I was stuck on just that. I'm just going for that alone and even considered just getting a tactical looking 22 thought about the Ruger 1022 or Mossberg 22 tactical series there were a lot of options out there for about just the same price I would spend on a separate complete lower and was taking some time to seek a deal for a complete upper and this snag came up. I bought this monday, February 9 2015 and I just got this today February 12 2015 and it fit right on my $150 ATI Omni polymer lower with ease big shout out to Mid State Firearms, WoW thank you!!!

Couldn't believe the quality for the price. I'm still looking for the blemish on the unit. Can't see it. I'll be ordering more.
