I did not get one yet, but friend of mine have nothing but good things about this pistol. Very nice to shoot and very accurate

It will drop to about half this in a year's time.

Just about what a Glock should cost.

I have to agree that the price will come down with time but I also will wait for any problems to surface and be resolved. I have the Shield and have never had a problem with it. Its tried and true. The new Taurus G2S ( a little larger than the Mossberg) also gets good reviews as does the older G2C. We are fortunate to have so many choices.

And I should pay a lot more for this than a Taurus G2 or M&P Shield..... why exactly?

Everyone's needs are different, but this appears to be a glock 43 with a $150 discount. It weighs 1 oz more, but is nearly identical in length, width, and height. You can't compare this to the double stack G2, unless you compare apples to lettuce because they are both plants and food. As long as it's not junk, it's arguably better than the shield because its smaller for concealment and holds 6,7,9 or 12 rounds depending on the magazines you use(it takes glock 43 mags). If you have larger hands, the shield may fit you better. As for the price, that will come down with time as all new firearms do. Me personally, I'm going to give it a year to see if they have problems and how much the price drops. Heck, the g2c MSRP is over $330, didn't take long for that to go down.

Then don't buy it? It's a new gun, and plus I doubt you've shot it. I'm sure it's a decent pistol. Quit looking for attention and giving a bad review for no reason.

Don't get your panties all in a knot, Mossberg Boi.

I asked why I should pay more for this. Conversation about products is a driving force on this site, newb.

Also... it's cheaper with shipping from at least 2 other retailers.

Bought one got it a bit cheaper gun is just 'meh' about the same as my G2S Taurus .Although the Taurus is a bit more accurate for half the price.

Mossberg's "me too" offering. Never a good thing. If their heart was in pistols they would have been there all along. This is purely about the bottom line.

Wow, a "business" that thinks about the "bottom line". Imagine that. Derp.

Here's my secret... wait until everyone buys one and see what they think. Then wait a little longer for the price to drop a little. Then buy one when they're not cool anymore and then, in the mean time, the next new hot sexy pistol will come out. Then do it all over again.

This 1) helps you save money, 2) you don't have to have an opinion because professional's opinions are better, 3) alien gear will have made a holster for it

Sooooo Mossberg isn't allowed to try something different besides shotguns and rifles? And I find it hilarious you call it a me too offering just because it's a single stack 9mm that's a pretty lame critique. Say besides the G43 how many other competitors accept the ubiquitous Glock mags in the single 9mm market. No one besides Glock you say? That's already a huge selling point that S&W, Ruger, and Walther can't match. I guess being a blind hater is all that matters nowadays.

Mossberg entering the handgun game interesting, it’s a crowded field with a lot of low priced high quality guns. This handgun will have to compete with Ruger LCP,
Walter PPS and S&W Shield to name a few. All three are around $50.00 less then the Mossberg and their quality has been proven. Good luck Mossberg your going to need it.

A PPS is 275? I’d compare it more to the lc9 than the lcp.

I love mossberg pumps...however a pistol is a bit more complex. I'm interested but I want to see thorough reviews first. I just hope this isn't a flop like the R51.

It looks like they designed this pistol around the concept of being super light weight. Im guessing that's why they went with 6rd and 7rd mag. My bersa bp9 holds 8rds and it's 4.8" with the mag. So for a half inch more they could have got 8rds flush plus 9 or 10rds with the extension. This would prob make a good conceal carry pistol on summer days when in shorts and a tshirt.

Is this mossberg's first pistol? Does anyone own one? I would be interested in their thoughts. I always liked mossberg shotguns.
