I worked with RK 3 different times on gun deals and each time they either gave me a refund because they couldn't deliver the gun because they mis priced it. Or another time when I orderd a gun and optics they sent the wrong scope and told me it was the manufactures issue and they didnt have the correct one. The last time they just sent the wrong gun and parts to my FFL and no one ever takes responsibility and that one i had to have my FFL return it to the company. They told me they would reach out to me to make it right and all I got was rude responses on why they couldnt get things right. WORST COMPANY EVERY! Dont waste your time.

Anyone know the threading on the barrel? I've seen conflicting info online and want to change the brake.

FIX THE FALSE DESCRIPTION!

They had these for sale a few months ago with all the accessories for like $279 or so. I ordered one after about a month of waiting they charged my card and my order status changed to canceled so I called them and they said they had a problem getting the accessories and couldn’t fulfill the orders. Another month goes by and I get a call from them stating they got the accessory pack in and that I could order one now and they would decrease price by $10. So I did. Then while on my way to my closest Rural King to pick up, I get a call stating the gun did not match the description and that I could get a full refund or that they would send me a $50 gift card if I chose to keep the gun. After looking it over I decided to keep the gun. After about a week or so I get an email stating that because of the issues with the guns that I could return for full refund or keep the gun and receive a $250. So of course I said I’ll keep the gun and take the gift card. A few days later I receive another email that I’m order to speed up the process they would be sending checks instead of gift cards. Within a week I received a $250 check. So I ended up getting the gun and all accessories for about $75 after tax and shipping. Best deal I ever got lol. Even though it was 2-3 months of aggravation.

That is an interesting story & a fantastic example of a Company / Business who understands that pro-active Customer Service & always doing their best to do the right thing is the Very Best Advertising / word of mouth / An Honorable Company. They do business the right way. I will now start shopping there, because I know if something goes wrong, that they will do their best to make me happy & keep me as a customer! Thank you for the post!

I honestly do not think they would have done the right thing if a group of us didn't ban together, call the same people daily, threaten legal action, etc. For the first 4-5 weeks after getting half of what was advertised (dollar value) the only offer was a $50 card that could only be used on their site. That was of course after they tried to substitute the advertised for items worth 1/4 of the retail value.

False advertising.. accessories not included it’s just the rifle

Just got off the phone with them it’s the gun only

They should change the discription and SKU# then. They got themselves in a lot of trouble last time they advertised this and had to pay out 250$ to everyone who bought one. It’s not a true nighttrain 11 the without the accessories

It was nice getting that $250 though. And I got the accessories lol

I would Definitely call RK before ordering this gun thinking your getting the full package. I think it is just the gun you see on RK’s website.

The post shows a combo package but when you go to the RK website it is just the rifle.

Got my check also but still never received my scope bipod package even though it is the wrong package still think I should've received it. Anyone else have this issue?

That I would raise a stink about. I think we all received the WRONG scope and bipod, the check in ON TOP OF THAT. In my opinion the scope is very usable but the bipod sucks

Ditto, used my bank's mobile app for an instant deposit to my checking. An annoying situation for sure but can't beat a 50 buck .308!

I just got an email saying they are sending a $250 check instead of a gift card. That is a win. So $50 for the rifle is a good deal.

Just an FYI, just received this email. Don't know if others received it as well, but this is the best news I've heard yet.

Hello,

Rural King has chosen, in an effort to expedite reimbursement, to issue checks (in lieu of the gift card) in the value of $250 to be processed and mailed by 5/31. Please allow 5 business days for US postal mail delivery and reach out to us if you do not receive your check. Please only respond to this email if you are not agreeable to this. Thank you for your patience.

I got the same thing....ain't gonna complain a damn bit about cash money as opposed to a gift card.

So basically we all got good $50 rifles, free decent scopes, and a crappy bipod! Deal of the year!

If you haven't had a chance yet to use the utg scope, it's probably the biggest piece of crap I've ever used. Lots of features, but nearly impossible to get a sight picture and Target acquisition. Thought I'd use it on a 22 long rifle so I could get a little bit more magnification knowing that I've never be able to get to 24 x, but figured I'd get 16x and still be clear. It's hazy fuzzy and will give you the biggest headache, I have to constantly dial it back to 6X just to reacquire the Target. Even at 6 x it's difficult. I wasn't able to even shoot 20 rounds before I was so frustrated and had the most massive headache from trying to sit behind that scope and get a Target picture. In comparison I brought out several other Scopes just to see how they compared to the utg on the same Target. A Vortex Crossfire II at 12 x, a Burris ar-223 at 18 x, and even a cheap ass Gamo air rifle 3-9 power. I can easily sit behind them and it the highest magnification could get my target acquisition instantly.. You'd be far better off with a 3-9 power Simmons 8-point that cost $30. Had I known that the scope was this horrendous, I probably would have never even accepted their offer. Funny how I still haven't heard back from them yet even though I told them that I would accept what they were offering to end this Fiasco. The fact that the gift card they are offering is to Rural King which means I would have to deal with this abortion of a company again.

I personally really like the scope I received and plan on leaving it on the rifle.
Based on your experence and knowing UTG it's probably a quality control issue.

If you live near a store, stop in and grab some ammo (or whatever you want) and call it a day. A friend of mine has been waiting on a Ruger SR22 he ordered two months ago. It was in stock when he ordered.

I am keeping the rifle, $50 for a rifle isn't a bad price

Thinking the same thing. I could try disputing the credit card charges but that might not work and I doubt they'll deal if that fails.

This entire situation has been pulled from the legal department and handed over to Drew coffey who is the buyer. From the email he sent me today, either a $50 gift card or return the rifle. Not acceptable as I'm sure not acceptable with any of you either. To be continued

They didn't just make a mistake, they knowingly have deceived every single one of us from day one and for two months now. Even worse that they knew exactly what they were sending us and even knew at the time they took everybody's order the second time, yet made sure they mentioned nothing and then shuved this down our throats and expect everybody to accept the $50 gift card and call it Kumbaya. Those of you who just say I'm going to refuse my rifle and move on shouldn't accept that. If you want the rifle it's something that you rightfully paid for, and you're rightfully owed the product that was clearly advertised and could have clearly been delivered to us. they knowingly went and tried to substitute another product at a far less cost to their company and force it upon us. I'm in no way being unreasonable by simply asking for the two products that were advertised, and that can be purchased by anybody on the market. The Barska scope as well as the Harris bipod are products that are completely available to the consumer today and rk gun had every opportunity to go buy them. The cost for rkg to procure the Barska scope and the Harris bipod is completely inconsequential to me. If they made a mistake they cannot expect all of us to eat that mistake and let them off the hook as if they have no responsibility in the matter to make it correct. Keep fighting this everyone

Received a call from a Drew Coffee about this rifle. He left a message saying he was talking to legal about what they are going to do to rectify this situation. Haven't heard back since earlier this morning. Anybody heard anything??

Some things aren't making sense. First the receipt I received from RK guns said it came with a barska scope, no it is a utg in a separate box. The box the rifle is in says model 26202, 22 inch barrel which it is not. The barrel is maybe 20 inches at best. On the factory box from Mossberg is says it has a muzzle brake which it does. The barrel is not fluted but the bolt is. I have emailed RK guns but haven't heard anything from them, this was two days ago. The original purchase came with a 30 day Norton warranty which has since expired as we all ordered the rifles back on March 20th. I emailed Norton to see if they will do something. If anybody has heard from RK guns let us know. I am not happy with the deal we got. It says right on the receipt from RK guns barska scope, I don't know how they can get around not fulfilling their obligation.

Does anyone have an update as to what RK is going to do? I spoke to them Monday and they said they are working on something with legal but would not say exactly what, just that I should call back in a few days.

I don't think I mentioned this but Thursday night (the day I picked up the gun) I cleaned it, assembled all the bait and switch accessories, and fired 10 rounds. Without zeroing at 50 yards I was about 1" low on a 10" gong, and windage was right on. It was damn near dark so the illuminated reticle helped and the scope let in a good deal of light even for a crappy 50mm. If it ever stops raining (all the way to 6/2 we have rain in the forecast) I will try to zero at 200 yards. Actually was pretty nice to shoot, loud as crap with the short barrel and huge brake but the kick was less than my semi-auto AR-10. Expect lots of concussion! The bipod is crap, I have bought $15 dollar Harris knock off's from Amazon that are much tighter than this. One leg has about 1/2" of play, not pulled fully back by the spring. Looks like the tear shaped piece of metal that holds the spring can be moved up but it is too tight for me to budge.

Guys honestly I think you should return it and count this up as a loss. I just called and told them to send the return label to my FFL. I actually ordered 2 of them. This company is a joke and I put zero confidence in them to make the accessories right. And actually it's not even just the accessories. The rifle is wrong as well. I am just tired of dealing with them and dont want my money to be tied up for another month or 2.

For me I am happy for what I got and what I paid (still a great deal in my mind).

I am NOT happy with their customer service or their ho-hum explanations of how the customer is screwed and they are not going to do anything real about it claiming they are also a victim of their supplier. I know for a fact my bank statement says I bought something from RK Guns and not ABC Gun Wholesaler. I personally do not care their vendor lied...not my problem but theirs. I paid RK Guns, based on RK Guns' description, for a product that RK Guns furnished that was materially different. I will fight them tooth and nail to get what I was promised.

Dros stands for dealer record of sale. In California when we go to our FFL it's known as the dros'ing process. I apologize, I forgot that in other states they call it different things. I think most people are familiar with nics

"DROS" threw me as well but in the context you used it I assumed it was something like that. In NC they almost throw guns at you if you have your concealed carry permit ;) With this rifle I was in and out of the my local pawn shop (my FFL) after less than 10 minutes including BS'ing with the guys who work there, poking around at their guns and camera stuff, function checking the rifle, paperwork, and paying their FFL fee.

On a side note: it's amazing to me the number of people who treat pawn shops like a savings & loan. Turn in a $500 guitar, get a $50 loan, pay $75 to get your own stuff back....and they walk out happy.

In my opinion it's more of them having to own up to falsely posting this on their site trying to unload rifles that were known not to be the correct item and selling them before even having them or being able to give you what you paid for and what was offered not once but twice.

Thank you kingransom that is what I will do. What is dros?

Pantera
If you really want the rifle I suggest you dros it and send an email to RK stating that you're accepting the rifle but you expect the accessories to be what was promised. If you completely refused it I doubt you'll get a second chance at any of it

Fellas
My rifle was just delivered to my FFL and I'm at work so I cannot verify what came with the rifle. How do I proceed? Do I accept the rifle and pursue RK guns to make it right or refuse it and try to get them to send me another rifle?? TIA

In my mind there are two courses of action:
1) Refuse the rifle and get a refund but you wont be entitled to any else legally. Being you have been "made whole" by the refund (aren't out anything tangible).
2) Accept the rifle and the kit (assuming you want it) knowing the best / worst you're going to get is a $50 gift card, and hoping for something better.

Honestly for $250 after the gift card I still would have bought this set if I saw it in store somewhere BUT IT IS NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED OR WHAT I PAID FOR.

Just spent a half hour on the phone with RK gun legal department. The reason you're probably not getting a response from cs is that I'm sure they've been told at this point to just shut their mouths and say nothing since it is now become a legal issue. After having this conversation I feel like they're going to do their best to try and make it right and get everybody exactly what was ordered since it is a product that is still available on the open market and not something that was discontinued or impossible to source. I would say this, by completely refusing the rifle and saying you want a full refund you probably will not get a second chance to get the rifle with the correct accessories. You may want to make it clear in writing to them that you still want the rifle along with all of the proper accessories that were advertised unless you just don't want anything to do with this Fiasco anymore. Hope this helps

WOW!!!!
I just received the call directly from Mossberg and spoke to the same gentleman who I called to clarify which rifle I had purchased. Here's a whole new twist to the story

Without getting very long-winded, he told me that RK gun was 100% aware that they were not purchasing a combo rifle. This particular rifle was made in the beginning of 2018 and was a special closeout order from RK gun to Mossberg. RK gun 100% knew that they were ordering just a rifle which is not available to the general public as a model number, it was put together specifically per rkguns request, and they knew that were no scopes and bipods available at that time. This comes directly from the mouth of the gentleman from Mossberg. This adds a whole new level to deceit, fraud, collusion. This is really turning into a big legal issue and I think RK gun would probably be smart to just get everybody what they ordered and move forward

And just so that there's no confusion, I asked the gentleman from Mossberg if it was okay to tape record a phone conversation so that I did not misconstrue anything that he said. I have every bit of it on tape along with other stuff so if RK gun wants to say that they didn't know anything, here it is directly from the manufacturer.

He will be calling me again to clarify some further questions that I had regarding whether RK gun knew that they were getting a different scope than the one that was advertised in the Night Train combo. According to him this was a Misadvertisement on their behalf but they absolutely knew what they were purchasing and then misled everyone of us along the way hoping that they would be able to buy the products that were not part of this rifle to appease the order.

Plot thickens!!
