Is this a good squirrel gun?

Perfect for squirrels, especially the 6 ft ones

Yes it is. Just shoot right in front of their face, sucks all air out of their lungs and they collapse DRT!

Not if you like to eat the squirrel after you shoot it.

Has anyone actually gotten this deal? Do they really have them in stock for this price (cheapest I’ve ever seen by a lot) and if so, are they actually the GBL model with the 18.5” barrel and full length mag tube?

Is this like the original Marlins...no. When Remington bought Marlin there were issues...but that was years ago. I would not buy one of these rifles when the acquisition “first” happed. However, they cleaned their act up and I have this exact rifle and mine has been rock solid. It’s one of my favorite hunting rifles.

No way I'd buy one of these online. You want to inspect the exact one you're buying, close up, with a fine tooth comb.

Not sure if they've got any better in recent time, but the the 1895 SBL I handled a couple years back was an utter disgrace. The action was gritty and binding, the screws were uneven and not flush with the receiver, the overall quality or lack of was just plain poor.

Buyer beware.

Marlin went to shit, just like Remington, after Freedom Group bought them.
