Description

The Magpul PMAG D-60 is a durable, lightweight, and highly reliable 5.56x45 NATO/.223 Remington polymer drum magazine for AR15/M4 compatible weapons. With a larger capacity than previous PMAGs, the PMAG D-60 gives the shooter 60 rounds of ammunition, effectively allowing the same round count as two standard capacity magazines without requiring a critical reload. Constructed out of next-generation impact and crush-resistant polymer. The unique drum configuration keeps the height of the magazine manageable as well as allowing for prone firing and easy storage. The PMAG D-60 will seat fully loaded on a closed bolt and its unique bolt hold open feature locks the bolt back on the last round. The Ratcheting Loading Lever on the PMAG D-60 takes the tension off the spring for easy loading by hand. Feed Tower compatible with most loading devices, including USGI stripper clips and guides, the StripLULA, and others. Designed to be left loaded for long-term storage without any loss of function or degradation. The PMAG D-60 is easy to disassemble for cleaning with only a flat-bladed screwdriver or similar. An anti-glare translucent window on the rear of the drum allows for easy determination of rounds remaining. The paint pen dot matrix panel on the back of the body allows for identification marking. Includes a slip-on, semi-rigid Dust Cover to prevent grit and debris intrusion during storage and transport. Made in the USA. Weight with dust cover: 20.5 oz. Weight (loaded, M855 NATO): 46 oz. Max dimensions: 7.4"L x 4.1"W.The PMAG D-60 has wide compatibility with most STANAG 4179 platforms such as the AR15, M4, M16, SCAR MK16/16S, HK416, MR556, M27 IAR, IMI Tavor, and others.Note: Shipping restrictions are active in AK, CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, and NY for magazines with 16 or more rounds.

I've got some of the 60 round schmeiser's. They work well. @< 50 bucks. I got one of these drums. It works well at >100 bucks. Hmmmm. If your worried about presenting to high of a profile from the prone. Then get 20 round mags. Or you could hold your fully semi auto ar15 sideways. This is a non discussion.

If only they made this in an 80 round version at the same price. It's just hard to justify paying 5 times the price for the same as two standard magazines. Especially considering that there isn't any overwhelming benefit for this style of mag to begin with. I want one, but I think I'm better off listening to the more rational side of me that says "pass".

Well I got a 40 round pmag I think that’s good enough
Maybe in the future I’ll get one of these .

Might not improve the function of you're AR15, but man it makes it look good :) lol

FACTS !

Doesn't stand to reason when you can couple two 30rd mags.

I never understood these things...

Let me return cover fire on you with a 60rd drum in the heat of the moment and see if you can load a coupled mag under stress. I'm betting 90% of you keyboard warriors couldn't under that kind of stress of me laying down 60rds on you non-stop (me included). Just chillax, and enjoy the options we have out there, if you can afford it. I bought one and love it. It has its place as "practical" -- if seconds matter and I'm dumping 60 rds on your ass w/o changing anything.

Yeah, cause going prone with two 30 round pmags coupled together is possible right?

1 vote

I don't think anyone who actually owns one of these has a belly that will allow them to go prone ;)

Depends upon your definition of "prone:" you can monopod the rifle off the magazine [well, O.K: technically, it would be a bipod with two 30 ^H^H, er, 28rd mags coupled together...]

These need to be banned. Some guy on CNN said you can shoot 60 rounds from one of these clippy things in 12 seconds. Total death machine when you add this to an Assault Rifle 15!

4 votes
2 votes

There is no other way to shoot that many rounds unless you have an automatic rifle "NOT" a semi automatic "RIFLE" you can't shoot that fast with SEMI. And by the way there is no such thing as a "ASSAULT RIFLE" only a rifle. And no AR doesn't mean "ASSAULT RIFLE" it means Armalite rifle because of the designer.

Bowhunter5150 was being sarcastic..... Unless you were being double sarcastic

Yea. Especially when your AR can shoot fully semi automatic.

Unfortunately most of my fellow gun loving crowd are too dense to grasp sarcasm on the internet. Nice try tho bud.

No these just don't make sense for anyone with any experience to actually use them. I'd rather have two coupled mags that are easier to reload than one 60 round drum that some dipshit who ends up on the news using which is why it's probably so fucking expensive in the first place.

i agree! i've been on a mag buying spree lately. i've got a couple 75d drums for my FM-11 set up as a SAR clone. D60 great reviews and battle proving, i've got a HBAR i would like to set up as a SAR clone.
buy em cheap and stack em deep!

The guys I know who deployed to the sandbox with them hated them & said they jammed constantly due to sand.
And these aren't cheap. They were a combo with a full auto BCG at PSA for months before the dipshit in Vegas happened. You're not buying shit cheap, but you might be stacking them deep.

Been to the "sandbox" lately and fought in a war?? How about a shooting range in warm decent weather? OK, STFU then and just enjoy the options we have as Americans.

I had a SAW in 08 on my first deployment but never saw anyone using something like this in their m4s/m16s, they're not worth it. A mag coupler does a better job.

I have one, range practical and fun justify my carrying it around on days I shoot. I will say that the mag couplers work for a considerable amount less and I use those a lot too.

lol, yup. I get that it takes more money and R&D to make a reliable 60 round mag, but as a CONSUMER I don't see the advantage ...at least not for the price. Were these like $60 I'd grab a few, but $100 for what can be accomplished with a simple mag couple and two 30 round mags, not so much

Anything south of $100 for one of these is a good deal. The only better deal is when PSA occasionally runs the D60 in a bundle deal with 250 rounds of ammo for $120. Remember, the gun grabbers are currently after "fully semi-auto" rifles, bump stocks and mags larger than 10 rounds, so load up. There are larger capacity drums available but none I've seen that are practical for non-stationary shooting - those 100 round South Korean drums are fine but they're so heavy that they're only practical for fixed positions. BTW, these D60's have been seen in use by our guys in Afghanistan, so that's an endorsement if I ever heard of one.

And the guys I know threw them away b/c they jammed up in the sandbox. Don't believe marketing BS and random images. Ask folks who used them.

Asking a genuine question here... if someone considering one of these WASN’T anywhere near the sandbox, and dominantly lived in an area where regular dirt is more prominent (along with no sandstorms), how would reliability change?

Nice to see this back down to $99 with the code.

These were going for an amazing deal a few months back at PSA with a bcg. Luckily I picked up a few. Not so sure at this price but still worth having one at the ready imo. Everyones budget is different of course. Can't go wrong with a couple pmag 30's or 40s coupled together which are my usual setups besides Lancer mags. As "mall ninja" these may be to some all of mine have been reliable and they fit nice and compact with AR pistols. I can assure you these serve more of a purpose than just instagram gun porn pics. Its nice having a few of these at the ready loaded with Hornady Tap and Soft Points cause you know.. SHTF might be just around the corner. Either way they make for extra fun at the range.

You will need this in case you need to switch to "fully semiautomatic " mode .

2 votes
0 votes

Anyone proficient can change a 30 round $10 mag in under 2 seconds and save $79.....but every mall ninja needs this!

4 votes
1 vote

Yep. And if you don't have 2-5 seconds to spare to change a mag, you're probably already screwed.

2 votes
0 votes

These things are miserable to carry as spares; their only useful purpose is as a 1st load, then x-ition to regular box mags & toss the mt into your dump pouch. One mag change saved at the beginning of a firefight could mean life-or-death, but after that? As stated, you're probably already hosed & just don't know it yet...

Thank you, grabbed a few of those for under $18 with shipping. Appreciate the heads up.

Deguns.net has them for $13.99.... I should have looked a little more...

Cool swag and range toy but I'll stick to the 40rd pmags. Why pay $70-$90 more for just 20 more rounds? Plus you can carry ALOT more of those than these in a real situation.

0 votes
0 votes

Not saying they couldn't serve a purpose in a specific situation, or that i would never buy one. I'll wait n see how low they get on cyber Monday and maybe order one just for the tacticool appeal.

Surprised people want these at this price. I would rather have multiple mags then one of these in case of a malfunction can just switch out mag. Rather get couple mags and some ammo. Don't have room to talk I guess. I've got 10 ar's. Lil overkill. Lol.

Just ten?

Should be considered disposable in any real application, read non-reloadable. Great for spraying 60 rounds to fuck everything in a general direction but not much else. Have one; rather use a couple pmags and some duct tape. To each their own. Does however possess a slight medicinal effect when paired with a BFS or Echo

I finally got one. Probably be on sale for $60 on Black Friday but oh well. $89 w free shipping is a good price at the moment.

I have owned and used mine for a year now. It works great, but is difficult to load. With the added bulk and weight, it is purely a range toy. It has become easier to load over time, having left it loaded in the safe.

Placed an order for one today, don't really need one is the thing but they look cool so oh well!

Just got this drum and a vortex Sparc AR red dot from psa. All for $199 shipped.

For $18 I'd rather have the simplicity and renown reliabilty of two plain, standard capacity 30rd pmags with the exact same capacity. Spending 5x the money on something not only less concealable and transportable, but ultimately less reliable just doesn't make sense to me. Fewer moving parts for the win. Simplicity is your friend.

How dare you stand up against complexity and expense in favor of simplicity and affordability. You must be a conservative... and definitely not cool. Join my club!

Haha I look at these types of mags as a novelty. Not that any of us would find ourselves in a firefight but if we were to, I wouldn't want to put too many eggs in one basket in case of a magazine failure...
