Nevertheless, for the $50 in materials and $20 in Chinese slave labor, they'd sell 5x as many of these @ $500 as they do at the "$999 on sale" price. They're *way* out there on the far side of the Laffer curve for maximizing their profits. Give it time... But I *do* wish Botach would tell their supplier they've got to start making all their consumer grade armor in American adult sizes; how many Asians are going to buy them?

The premise remains the same: there is an optimal price where profit will be maximized; they're far on the downhill slope of the curve. If they drop the price by half, they'll sell more than 2x as many, and increase their profits. But it's still too narrow by at least 4"...
