sYnFlood,

You know I'm not sure if Lasermax has changed the internal components or what, many years ago when Glock ironed out the quirks in the 1st gen Glocks, when the 2nd gen Glocks were released I bought one as well as this Lasermax guide rod laser.

It still works as good as new and it has seen thousands of rounds. (By thousands of rounds I mean it was in the Glock, but I rarely actually turn it on, but even off it's taken a beating over the years)

The only part to ever need replacing was the plastic battery cap with the dimpled contact points. Back in the day, Lasermax would give you these free of charge. Not so much any more, now they are sold, which is ok, but many of Lasermax's staff are lazy, ignore the customers and they make promises they never keep.

Lasermax has changed and not for the good. Their head tech supports name is Bob, and while a smart guy, he is forgetful and does not keep his word, even when reminded three times or more. His assistant Kelly, while helpful, doesn't know as much and refers you to Bob, who then makes promises and is full of shit.

I got so pissed at them I wrote a letter to their CEO, who also ignored me cold. I'm not talking about e-mail, but snail mail as I wanted her to read it.

I was a good Lasermax customer, I've spent thousands of dollars on their lasers and I will not give them a penny going forward.

I recently bought their flagship green laser as well as their competitors rail mounted green laser and DISSECTED both. I did not give a crap about the warranty, as I wanted to examine this laser a lot closer as the battery door and pressure pad adapter were not sitting flush.

I took them apart down to the last screw to try to figure out why mine was not closing properly once the pressure pad was attached.

Interestingly, the Lasermax has parts and screw holes perfectly alaigned with their competetors product that not only fit into the competitors offering, but also had holes that were not used, almost as if both products came off the same Chinese assembly line, but one product had one screw for the two holes, and one had two holes and used two screws, but both lined up perfectly vis a vis and were compatible with one another.

Interestingly, the cheaper laser was put together better, so I took those extra screws and fortified the Lasermax, as it should have been that way to begin with. It's almost comical as I used my Proxxon precision rotary tool and added a 2nd hole to the Lasermax battery door, the hole was there on the other part just Lasermax was to either two lazy or to busy counting gobs of money to built the parts to the blueprint.

I suspect these Lasermax LMS-UNI-G's are not made in the USA as they claim and I suspect Lasermax has fallen of it's pedestal that made them great. The guide rods lasers are made in the USA, I do know that much.

I also know that Lasermax will not see one red cent from me going down the road. It's not a big deal since their competitors aren't stuck on stupid like they are.

Have to agree... awesome concept, but concerning reliability this thing has a mind of its own. Not something i would bet your safety in. I have had two of them in the past in a glock 19 and a glock 17.. could be the specific design/switch contact point.. i dont know.. ive had better luck with crimson trace but havent purchasrd one for a glock.

Worth the price IF it worked all the time..

Terrible and super overpriced! This product is made out of some of the cheapest parts I've ever seen. I bought one on Amazon and went through hell getting a working one. The first one failed after 100 shots, the second one came with a dead battery and the third one actually melted from the heat of the barrel after shooting 200 rounds in a day.

These are great learning tools for showing you exactly what you're doing when you pull the trigger but the reliability and price is disgustingly bad at best.

The manufacturer ignored all my requests and issues and offered no solutions. This is the first time I've ever paid top dollar for a product and had the company just ignore my emails.

Amazon took the product back after the 3rd failure refunding me $300+; do not buy from anyone but amazon since I guarantee you will run into issues and they may be after 30 days.
