Original Review: TaurusG2 and Shield9MM Coupon Codes didnt work for me. Received product and was impressed by the dual clamshell design, and the training mode, but unimpressed by the brightness of the laser. It was dim, as dim as my TruGlo MicroTac that is known as one of the dimmer ones due to size limits, I think even dimmer than the TruGlo. I'm hoping the issue is the batteries supplied with the unit (6 total, 2 sets of 3) and have ordered a fresh set of the silver oxide version to see if it makes a difference. If things dont brighten up with fresh batteries, its not usable as a laser in a self defense situation, merely a toy/trainer.
Updated 11/5 - While both sets of the batteries included in the original package yielded a very dim laser, I just tried the fresh batteries I bought (another 7 bucks for 10ea) from Amazon and am happy to report the beam is now much brighter, as bright as I expected for a red laser given federal limits on laser output. I would now recommend at this price point for either a trainer or laser, just factor in the cost for new batteries
