Description

LaRue Tactical MBT-2S Trigger

1 @ $89 ea.
3+ @ $79 ea.

In a world of instantly M.I.M.'d rifle and pistol components, we threw on the brakes, slowed to a walk, and built 2-stage triggers out of solid S7 tool steel plates. Meticulous triggers built by our staff toolmakers ... without a stopwatch in sight.

No question, we’re particular about accuracy. Everyone knows that one of the smartest improvements an AR-owner can do to their rifle is a precision trigger upgrade. Everyone also knows that LaRue Tactical has a track-record of doing things right. The LaRue MBT-2S was purposefully designed and manufactured to render the greatest benefits from our legendary line of accurate rifles. The MBT-2S can also replace the stock trigger on any mil-spec AR lower receiver.

Sparing no expense, all major components are precision-machined from S7 Tool Steel. The result of this extra effort is a glass-smooth, hyper-consistent trigger that will satisfy even the most scrupulous competition shooter, but also be overly rugged for the battlefield. The MBT-2S breaks crisply at 4.5 lbs (2.5 lb first stage, 2 lb second stage) and has a smooth and positive reset. Each trigger comes with an additional "heavy" trigger spring that increases the pull weight to 6 lbs.

Made in-house, in Texas, in the USA.

Ordered one Mon 10/8/18.
Tues 10/9/18 email from Larue, in production with a 2-3 week lead time.

From what others have said it should be worth the wait.

In for two.

Great deal. I have a few. They just need to retrain the person who packs them into the can. Show them how the foam cut out works so they don't bang off each other during shipping.

for $87 this is pure robbery compared to the competition (dollar for dollar). It's about halfway inbetween an SSA and an SSA-E and at less than half the price! I ordered two and popped them in a couple of rifles...holy eff me in the backside these things are sexy. Ordered 3 more immediately

I finally got around to installing mine. I paid $100 back in April. I now want two more. It’s amazing. Changed the way I think about triggers. I love this thing.

Great trigger, Great deal.

Its a good trigger for the money but your order will be on backorder after they charge your card the day you order. It took 3 weeks for mine to get in. They also filter the reviews on their site so no one can post negative responses. Very deceptive practices in my opinion.

I posted two separate times and neither made it to the site.

The high shipping charges kill this deal.

Is shipping $150? Because this was a $250 trigger when it launched in 16.

This never was a $250 trigger, this is a $100 trigger they tried selling for $250.

It was a $250 trigger until we built a dedicated shop with all new processes to get cost down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9JXffvZ74k&t...

Ok, I ordered mine on 8-10, came in on 9-7. I knew this going in, so not a problem for me, but if you can't wait you might look elsewhere.

Now as for the trigger. I have owned and do own better, but for what I paid it's not bad. The MBT has a short and light take up on the first stage, and a nice clean break on the second. My only complaint is the shape of the trigger bow, it has more squared edges than I like, but I can live with it, it's not like I have it on a target rifle, lol.

Well I "pulled the trigger" on one of these about two weeks ago. I'm in no hurry but I will report back when I get mine as to how long it took.

Still waiting?

Nope, read my post above. Clearly states it took a month between time of order till I had it in hand.

I ordered two triggers on 7/25 and was told at the time it would be two weeks from order to ship. It is now three weeks and it still shows as being on backorder. I will give it another week and then I will cancel my order. Good deal or not, I don't like being told one thing and then not have it occur, especially when my card was charged at the time of the order.

Dan, I had to cancel my order with them for the same reason. Stag is running an amazing deal right now.

I have order my trigger ...... and GET THIS.... Stag shipped it the same day!!!

Looks like a pretty good deal. I would be interested to know how that trigger feels at those heavier pull weights. I have two particular guns that I would like to move to a two stage trigger but haven't because most are usually setup at with a combined pull weight of 4.5 lbs or less. I wanted to keep the heavier pull weight of the milspec trigger. I was thinking about getting a couple different springs sets and experimenting with them on one of my existing two stage triggers but that one is already setup at the desired pull weights. Might just have to order one and see how it works out.

Well, even though I have installed the trigger on my rifle, I haven't gone to the range yet. As far as dry firing goes, this Stag 2 stage trigger:

1. has a short take-up, and
2. crisp take-up (it feels like there is almost no movement).

I haven't measured the pull weight either. Having said that, I actually liked this heavier pull offered by Stag, now that I tried something different. However, this may be a matter of personal preference.

My 7/25 order status changed from backordered to complete just hours after I posted and was emailed the tracking info which states delivery should be on 8/23. Hope this helps others gauge where they may be in the queue.

Ordered mine in July 22nd, actually arrived on August 13th and I'm pretty happy with it so far. All that I need to finish my new rifle is a BCG. Hopefully Fail Zero will get back to me soon with some actual answers as to whether or not my recent purchase is out of spec

You do need to read the website. It does say "I can wait price of ...". My guess is, they need the capital to upgrade, retool, etc. and rather than take out a loan, they are having people prepay. The long wait should be in the title of the item page or flashing HTML about wait time being a trade off for a low price! Suppose to be on sale until Christmas. Plenty of time to decide if you want to wait or not!?

I'd like to know the shipping cost!? Not truly $87 if it isn't shipped for free.

Actually that's what upset me the most. They are borrowing from customers at zero interest. Really simple math.... If they charge 1,000 customers $87 by charging our credit cards (for a month), LaRue is effectively borrowing $87,000 at no interest. I'd like to do that for my house :-)

It does not say the $87 price is the "I can wait" option. The only place I can see those words put together is on the narrative talking about the previous $125 price.

Post up a screen shot of what you're reading...

should be mentioned BEFORE you order what kind of wait time to be expected.because when charged right away, I am not used to beg or hope to get the item already paid for when ever the sellers mercy is granted, no matter how good or special the deal is. period.my first & last order with this company.
GOT UPDATE TODAY - CARD IS CHARGED RIGHT AWAY, SINCE IT IS A SPECIAL OFFER - LEAD TIME AT LEAST F O U R WEEKS.

Well, I should have read some of the comments below about the slow delivery times before placing my order. Perhaps I would have managed my expectations better.

I placed my order 13 days ago and was told my order would ship within two weeks. My card was charged right away. I followed up with them today, because I had not heard from them at all and the online status check didn't work for me either. I was told that my order won't be fulfilled within two weeks due to production delays.

Just ordered a few more at $87. Already have one in a gun and it feels as good as the $160 one in another. Big improvement over stock mil spec single stage.

Just purchased my third MBT! I have never had an issue with delivery on these or other high quality items I have purchased in the past. Each time, they were delivered in 7 to 10 days However, I do live in the same state that they are produced in. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I'm hoping mine will be shipped out here soon if that's the case. I ordered one on July 22nd and I've been checking my emails constantly to see if there's any info about my MBT

I placed my order on the 21st. However, I was informed today that the order won't be fulfilled soon due to production delays.

This deal is for the crowd who understand the tried & true business concept, the cost quality tradeoff (product can be delivered good, fast, or cheap; you can pick any two of the three). With this deal, you get good and cheap. Larue clearly has the manufacturing down to a science. The unknown is how fast you’ll get it (although shipping times have been better lately). Maybe this isn’t the deal for you if you get your panties in a bunch if something doesn’t ship before suppertime the day you order it. Or maybe you believe the next civil war kicks off a week from Tuesday and you simply got to finish that commie-killer build now. Otherwise, join the smart crowd and get a great trigger.

This is the most sack-swinging faux elitist comment I've read on this site. Kudos to the author's expertise in throne sniffing and poor association to project management 101.

It's simple, put a real-time "in stock" or "backordered" label on your item. This isn't the fucking 1800's and you're not waiting for an artisan hand-carved buttplug. It's a CNC pre-programmed metalwork process with minor hand cleaning/packing labor.

Just be up-front with stock quantity. Is that too much to ask?

If, not getting next day shipping, or a definitive arrival date is going to stress, and upset you. You need to go to Brownells, and order a Geissele for twice the price. LaRue is like the DMV. You take a number, and wait your turn. My orders have taken from four days to over a month, but have always been well worth the wait.

I absolutely love these triggers, second stage is light and crisp, if it is not light enough for you, they are easy to adjust.

Ton's of praise has been given to this trigger and its well deserved. It is worth the wait especially at this price.

I just don't get why a sale goes up, and no notice is shown that a product is on back order. All the way through order completion and even receiving the email confirmation, there is no indication that product is on back order until you log into your account on larue.com and check your order.

I'm no "stable genius" but the sale is for the I can wait option for this trigger which means there's a wait. The numerous comments and reviews give you an idea on how long the wait is. Before I buy anything important I do a little research. This is a great price on a great trigger, it's worth the wait.

There is no "I can wait" option. The shipping estimate shows 1-3 days for the standard in-state rate. This sale is straight-up misleading on the turnaround. Fine, go with the "it's worth the wait" retort but LaRue should at least let me know I'll be waiting before I submit the order.

EDIT: I'll eat some crow here. Turns out their "backorder" status changes pretty quickly. I've gotten no email updates but it was nice to see a tracking code generated today on larue.com (only 5 business days wait). Will update comment as soon as it's delivered/installed.

I am totally with you on this one! I am having identical experience and feeling the same way. It is 2018 for crying out loud. The e-commerce has advanced a bit since 90's - order status and not charging customers' credit cards several weeks in advance are common practice nowadays! :-)

What a load of shit with larue long shipping times over priced products only lemmings buy so now he decides to price things accordingly to try to actually acquire new customer base. Fu larue. Hey look I'm Mark LaRue I can shoot down a drone with my rifle.

I should have read your comments, before I placed my order :-) They charged my card right away and promised to ship the item within 2 weeks. I decided to follow up on my order, since I haven't heard back from them at all. Apparently, there are production delays. Well, the right thing to do would be to let me know ................and not borrow money from me for free by charging my credit card in advance :-)
