I'm building my first ar15 and was wondering g if this will fit any caliber or brand upper. I know the listing says multi caliber.

Yes, as long as it is a .223 or 5.56 it should work without any if, ands, or buts.

I have to get one of these along with the lower. Total with the sale price and background check on a complete weapon would be $489 in addition to the $200 tax stamp if one plans to get the SBR rather than the pistol and shouldering it. I can't help but wonder if there's some sort of weirdness going on when it's a federal crime to possess an SBR without a tax stamp but one can simply shoulder a pistol that has the ridiculous strap on it effectively making it the same thing. It's impossible to keep track of every single citizen who has a so-called pistol and what days they decide to shoot so they can be monitored for violations of the federal statutes regarding an SBR anyway. Any effort to do so would be a huge and irresponsible waste of taxpayer money. Looks like a well made upper receiver in the photographs. Hopefully they really are.

I ordered a lower on an inexpensive build. It has functioned well. 500 rounds down range . Mil spec . I'm ordering another soon.

I have found the same performance (~200 rdr) so far. Fit and finish on the KG lower was better than I had expected, the only real nitpick I have is that the safety selector on mine is extremely stiff when returning it to "safe". Guess I need to just work it while watching a game and add a bit more lube to it. Mated the lower to a PSA upper, and looks like they came from the same machine shop. I must be suffering from heat stroke because even the logo seems endearing to me now...

Well, I sprung for one of the $109 complete mil-spec lowers on the current deal. The logo doesn't bother me if the machining and finish are good, but I guess I'll reserve full judgement when I see it up close. If you don't want/need the butt stock, then you can decline that and it drops the price by 19 bucks. So now it's $90 including shipping to MI. First build :-)

I also bought one without the stock. It arrived with no buffer tube or spring, even though when i ordered it my order said that these would come with it. I contacted their customer service and was told they would update the site to say these were not included, but no offer to make it right with me. The lower seems fine, but I don't trust the company.

And why wants to bet if you have cycling issues they blame the user supplied buffer and spring.

Interesting you mention that - I did have cycling issues with the first version of my build with this part, but it turned out to be the PSA bcg I had in the same brand upper. Returning the bcg after eliminating the other variables including buffers. Using an APOC bcg instead and it runs verrrry nicely.

How do you think every "shoot a machine gun" place does it? Do you think these places buy pre 86 m16's at over $20k a pop? They have a class 3, buy a jig, drill holes, and installs an m16 lower parts kit. These as you call them cannibalized lowers are used over and over and far exceed the life of the barrels.

What?!? We went from doomsday prepping to someone owning a shooting range? Yeah, way to stay on topic there.

BTW, lots of people make their own lowers; since you already plan on having jigs, drill presses, a shop with power, etc when the sky falls why waste your money on this and not just invest in some aluminum blocks?

Great deal! Add a $39 PSA Lower and you have a nice entry level AR For around $400.

Anyone who is letting the logo hold them back from making this purchase should look past it and buy the lower. It's the only lower I've came across that has the internal machining to allow a lower parts kit from its military issue counterpart with the exception of the sear pin hole. That being said it's an excellent addition to anyone's dooms day preparations.

Is it the same machining as a bushmaster for a DIAS or an original M16?

Question, during doomsday are you really going to be retrofitting this lower from salvaged "military issue" parts or just use the entire lower you are pretending to cannibalize?

I'm an artist, I'd be glad to design them a new logo that would stand out in a good way.

I agree, that logo is the ONLY reason I don't buy from them...it's fugly

Dang son, that looks like an alright deal with the free ship. This sight seems to have pretty affordable parts. To bad I just bought 3 Anderson stripped lowers or I'd probably pull the trig. I don't want my FFL guy to think I'm hording ARs...

In case Kerrie's Gun reads the comments, you can have someone design you a new logo on fiver.com. Its actually pretty cool. I had some people make a few and was only out $15 before I got something I really liked. Just a suggestion.

I bought 2 of these, super fast shipping both times. These lowers are just as good or better than Anderson or palmettos honestly they are a better fit than either of my bushmaster lowers and with a 10 dollar buffer and 15 bucks on better trigger and hammer springs they shoot just as well, on the down side they do have a lame looking logo markings. I was so happy with the fast shipping and deCent quality I tried out the wraith upper and it's nice 500 down thE pipe without a single issue except for a primer that got jammed in the bolt but that was my fault from using cheap ass old 223 ammo

I'd buy some of the lowers except for one thing. I don't like the company logo and "Karris guns" on it. If the company could come up with a better looking logo, something a bit more eye catching I'd honestly buy. I know it may seem minimal to some but I want my rifles looking good as well as working good. I understand and can respect branding and wanting to put your company name on it but a smaller "KG" with a logo or design would look so much better. Just my opinion

Cry somewhere else man.....what do you expect for under $300? You expect anything more than Chinese accessories? I never buy a cheap upper expecting not to change out some of the cheaper parts like the handgaurd....

I also have three KG uppers now, 7.5 & 10.5" pistol and 16" rifle upper and all have operated flawless to date! Can't beat the price or delivery (got all three within 2-3 days of placing my order). Love the slimline keymod rail these come with! Very nice compact and well made.
