Gen 2 VS Gen 1
Gen 2 40 cal glock model wins. Gen 1 had some hiccups on certain LE hollow point Ammo. Not the gen 2. The rails on the 2 are excellent. Gen 2 FEELS like a better gun. The all steel front sight is way better. Both guns had issues with 30 round Korean mags, very few issues namely failure to feed halfway into mags. Added light and laser for in home defense.
Both gens are brilliant designs but the 2nd gen is worth the wait.

I have the sub2k in the 9mm glock format and it is absolutely amazing and exactly what you want from the gun. There is zero recoil, it almost feels like it's not shooting when you do shoot it. My girlfriend has a ball with it and it's inexpensive to shoot compared to most rifle formats. Couldn't be happier.

I just picked mine up from my FFL yesterday. The website said 5 in stock; but when I called, they were "all out". I talked to whoever answered the CDNN's 800 number; but then Sterling (I think that was his name) was the one that looked around and found one for me. New in box and everything checked out great. Shipped out on Friday, arrived at my FFL on Tues. I also picked up some more glock mags, as I think the OEM's are feeling pressured from Magpul and stopped charging outrageous prices for factory mags.

From this vendor? Where did you get it if not from CDNN? If so, did you speak to a specific person when you ordered or just whomever answered the 800 number?

Is this the first or second gen model?

If the picture is correct, then this is a first generation. I doubt that you will see the Gen 2 model at this price for awhile.

Fast forward half of a year and the photo is updated. Looks like Gen 2 now.

No matter what, probably three people in all the world will ever get one from CDNN.

They do promote the couple of guns they get, don't they?

Got mine from CDNN the last time they offered this deal. Fantastic gun. Did not like one certain hollow point LE round. Other than that ran perfect. So incredibly accurate! The front sight is junk though. I tightened it just a bit when I got it sighted in and immediately heard a crack. No biggie. I don't plan on ever moving it but still think it should be metal. The grip had a gap that widens when you put glock mag in. I put a rubber grip cover on so it wouldn't annoy me. I added a light and a mag pouch to the foregrip with gun tape. No need to drill. The gun folds up into such a small package. Keltec sub2000 in 40 with glock mags. buy it!!

KelTec is the dumbest smart company in the firearms business. The company has some of the most innovative and well engineered products on the market, but can't get its act together when it comes to production, marketing, and (from what I hear) quality control. They have limited capital to fund production and operations because they refuse to use debt financing. That is simply a primitive and overly-consevative approach to corporate finance. And then they waste the limited capital that they do have. This product posting is prime example. They're offering the Sub2K in 40, using S&W Mags! WTF! First, they should be selling 9MM versions, since that round is more widely used. Second, whether they are going to produce 9MMs or 40s, they should be using Glock magazines. Both of these points are common sense. Further, the company also wastes money on advertising for products such as the Sub2K, and then customers can't find the damn things anywhere. Finally, there are tons of complaints about KelTec quality. It really is such a shame to see such a waste technical talent at the hands of incompetent management. I would love to see KelTec taken over by a sophisticated firearms corporation, preferably Ruger. Keep the technical guys who make the magic guns, but get rid of the business guys who apparently didn't even take Business 101. Ruger steals their designs anyhow, so may as well just take over the whole company. Tell me you wouldn't be interested in buying a RUGER Sub-2K in 9mm with Glock mags at $400.

I completely understand your frustrations & agree with most of them. They developed the sub2k years ago as a LE carbine (it never caught on with LEA's) go figure? That said, derived from the aluminum "sub9" almost 15 years ago, when this was being designed, many police agencies were still using the S&W 5906 series & Berretta 92 series pistols. So at that time it made sense (and still does in my opinion to offer these in those configurations).

I agree- Kel-Tec is their own worst enemy. :(

My friend bought one and when he fired it the gun blew in half and you could see the air bubbles in the polymer where it broke. I love kel tec but yeah I see Qualty Control being an issue.

The only reason I bought a sub2000 in 9mm was because it uses Sig mags, but can be converted to Beretta and S&W. If it would have been Glock mags only, I wouldn't have one.

Well, I'm glad it worked it for you. It's the exact opposite for me and probably most people. Can you really argue that old S&W magazines (even with the Beretta conversion, which itself is unattractive) are as prolific as Glock magazines? For every S&W model produced, there should be two or three times as many Glock models. Either way, if Kel-Tec was run properly, it would be a non-issue because it would produce enough supply to meet the demand from all of us. But, they'll never no bankrupt because they have no debt. So, they'll just hump along for the foreseeable future. But, hopefully a better managed company will emerge that produces similar products.

Now that I think of it, Beretta does the same damn thing. For their CX4 Storm, they produce way more models that use the PX4 magazine than the 92 magazine. And, the 92 mag versions seem to cost hundreds of dollars more. How does this make sense? The 92 is one of the most widely used pistols in the world (e.g., US Military!!) and there is substantial after-market production of 92 mags. I'm sure more folks would be more interested in buying a 92-CX4 than a Px4-CX4. For the love of brass, the US military would even be a likely candidate given the benefit of interchangeability! Instead, Beretta hustles the PX4-CX4. They either do this because they're incompetent or because they're using it as a marketing scheme to push the PX4. The good approach isn't to force customers to buy your product; it's to make them fall in love with your product. I can go on and on about mismanagement in the civilian firearms industry. Its really a sham. Oh, and don't talk to me about the 92 mag well insert--that's a Mickey Mouse solution.

I guess it truly is a matter of supply and demand. PX4 mag models are cheaper because they don't sell as well. As for Kel-tec making the same amount of all magazine models and calibers, I doubt it. I assume (usually gets me in trouble, assuming that is) that they make, First: large numbers of Glock 9mm models, Second: Glock 40s&w mag versions, Third: Beretta 92 models 9mm of course, Fourth: Sig 9mm, Fifth: Beretta 96 and S&W 59 magazine models around the same amount. But again, just an assumption. Also, I and a friend have Beretta 92 style and another 96 style. They sell all they can build.

What part of "Kel-Tec Sub-2000 40s&w Carbine • Accepts Glock 22 40s&w Mags " are you not understanding? I ordered on this morning and they are indeed Glock 22 Magazine versions.

I originally made my post for a S&W version. gun.deals somehow and mistakenly reassigned my original post to this product posting.
