Kel-Tec RDB 5.56x45mm, 17" BarrelThrough an ingenious and simple arrangement, Kel-Tec® has solved the main disadvantage of Bullpup rifles: case ejection! The RDB (Rifle Downward-ejecting Bullpup) actually ejects brass DOWN, not right in your face. The RDB Rifle features a rotary bolt with a spring loaded ejector and an extractor facing down. The spent case is pulled backwards along the top of the magazine and then ejected through a vertical chute. The bolt travel is longer than traditional designs, but still well within the ergonomic constraints of a rifle. The RDB is built around a common steel skeleton formed by the receiver and barrel sub-assemblies. Bolt, bolt carrier, firing mechanism, ejector chute and bolt stop are identical for all variations. The short stroke gas operated piston is fully adjustable for different ammunitions and muzzle attachments.Scope, scope mount, sights, and angled fore grip not included.Rifle ejects brass down, not backShort stroke gas operated piston is fully adjustable for different ammunitions and muzzle attachmentsSteel skeleton formed by the receiver and barrel sub-assemblyPolymer frame for durability and weather resistanceEasy to break down and serviceMag release is a piece of spring steel that wraps around the magErgonomic thumb safetyPLEASE NOTE: Scope, scope mount, sights, and angled fore grip not included. I actually really Keltec and just bought this rifle today as I posted it but your right on manufacturing. Doesn't seem like they are good at scaling production which is unfortunate as many of their firearms are fairly innovative. Not to mentions hey are more than fair with their retail pricing. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe they should mark everything up like colt. That may help with expanding manufacturing. Whatever, at least I finally picked up one of these unicorns...

Mine has been reliable for a few hundred rounds, but I don't roll into mud and drop it on concrete.

Hahahaha! That doesn't work anymore for me. Although now I don't have money for optics for either;). I may actually have to sell one now. Oh well I couldn't pass this up. I bought one from 10dollargunclub 8 months ago. After not getting it for 5 months and their website going down I had to call the bank and thank god I was able to get my money back. So when I got an alert on this I thought I was dreaming!! They really are great guns. My buddy has well over 2k rounds through it and it's ran flawless. I've put 500 through it myself. Accuracy is decent at about 1.5 MOA at 100 yards with food ammo which is better than my Tavor. With match ammo and a better shooter it would do 1 inch I bet. The trigger is also solid. I can't wait!! I love me some Kel tec!!

I agree. You can get a dead nuts reliable AR for grand.

Okay, that's fair - but also not a valid comparison. This is a bullpup frame - the real question is a reliable BULLPUP .223, not any old AR15. I bought one of these a year ago since it was only $900, and honestly it's become my favorite .223. My sig and colt AR frames are more accurate above 100 yards, but the way they designed this gun makes it feel very natural. Plus, I've put approximately 2.5k downrange with mine with 0 jams/failure - the damn SIG can't even make that claim.

I agree for about a grand I expect some better front end engineering planning and a less Hi-point appearance

Just bought one. Thinking about another lol. What a steal considering the gouging going around and that they haven't hit the market in full yet.

Yep you said it in a nutshell "that they haven't hit the market in full yet".
That is so funny as they were only released Feb-2-2015!!!! Most firearm manufacturers take 2 years and 3 months to "fully hit the market" on a newly released firearm! But sadly, this IS KelTec- they will probably ramp up to normal production around 2030, when they will finally be available to no one that wants them anymore.

Ahhhh yeah I have been chasing one of these for months at a fair price. Got the alert this morning so hopefully ya'll think this is a deal as well. I just ordered mine!! Not the cheapest price but the lowest I have seen for one in stock for months!! Lowest I've seen if you can find is around $1200. Ever since I shot one last year I've love them. Great gun. Now my Tavor has a buddy in the safe. My wife's gonna kill me as I just picked up a PWS mk2 mod1 creedmoor which hasn't even arrived at my FFL. Oh well;)
