If you get a Plano or MTM plastic 50 cal ammo can you can securely fit 16 metal mags follower up. No foam needed.
Bought 2 of these and have zero issues with them. Awesome mag holders/storage for the money. If you have ranger plates on your 30rd mags you have to shift them around to find the right spot. Some may be too tall for a section of it can/box.
Perfect size to perfectly fit a variety of 30 round mags from pmag, lancer, ets, hex, aluminum, etc. I even made two 33 round glock mags fit in one of the AR mag slots and can still close it. Even when all slots are filled I can slip in extra mags and twenty round ammo boxes. These are my new favorite for range trips and make it easy to keep everything organized. Hard to tell what the long term quality will be and how they will hold up but I'll report back with updates. So far so good after two range trips so I ordered a couple more.
Not a bad price...keep in mind that this is the members' price - non-members pay $14.99 but the free shipping code is still valid...by comparison, over on Amazon you can get the MTM-brand 15 AR magazine box for $19.99 and get free shipping if you have a Prime membership. MTM also makes a mag box slotted for ten .223/5.56 mags plus ten 9mm/.45acp pistol mags, great for dooms-dayers with a rifle and handgun.
Bought 4 boxes, they’re arrived today. Not bad for the price. Box material are so thin plus latches are so flimsy, if all 15 magazines are loaded in this container, the latches will be breakup anytime if you carry it around. Not recommended. Go with heavy duty ones.
