Be aware these are imported as rifles on a non USA made receiver. And as such they have blocking bars in the magazine well to only allow special 10 round magazines that come with the rifle and will not accept other H&K, Pro-Mag or even ATI's own 30rd aftermarket magazines. You can change out parts to bring the foreign part count to below 10, making it 922(r) compliant, and remove the blocking bars but it will add to the overall price. Cost depending on what you change out.

922(r) Compliant Parts

The ATF has identified 12 countable parts on the MP5. 6 total US parts are needed for 9mm MP5 builds.

Trunion
Bolt
Bolt Carrier

None of this is to diminish the quality of these, they are the best value for money "clones" you can buy. The fit and finish is right on par with genuine pre-ban H&K 94s I've seen and shot. But go in knowing the limitations that are there, and that spare magazines are going to be an issue.

The AT94A2 is also no longer being imported, issues with BAFTE classifying parts that are welded together not a single part,
"a butt stock which incorporates an integral pistol grip must be newly manufactured as a single component, not made by attaching a pistol grip to a buttstock."
again a 922(r) or "Sporting Purpose" issue.

ATI's industry page on ar15.com has more information but those are the 3 big points.

I do own a AT94K, and have looked up the above in researching which of the 3 models of this type of gun I wanted to buy.

I was wondering what the hell was up with that tiny little stubby baby-magazine sticking out lol.. makes a lot more sense now.
