Been wanting to try the 45 and at this price couldn't pass up the deal. Had some Calebas points so was $130.10 shipped to the store. I have the C9 and a 995ts and have had zero problems out of either one.

Not sure why all the attacks on his point I own the 995t the jcp40 and the c9 never had a issue with any of them they shoot straight and work as they should with a life time warranty. My jcp40 is even my side arm and my 995t is my home defense gun. Yes there inexpensive but for someone like me on a budget there great guns and work every time.

The carbines rarely receive criticism- only the handguns. Why? Clunky and ugly mainly.

Carbines have less trouble? I have had mine since the mid 1990's. Never had a failure to fire. My HP 45's mag kept falling out. Got rid of it and bought a Glock 21. I had a new Springfield XD Mod 2 9mm as my truck gun and decided to keep it at home with the rest. So I bought a HP 9mm pistol from Cabelas. When picking it up, the employee was showing me the gun, pulled the slide back, and could not get it back. So I cancelled that and said the hell with HP pistols. Bought a Taurus G2 for about $182 out the door at Cabelas using GC's. Fired 8 bullets from each mag, cleaned it, reloaded it, put it in my truck, and will probably never fire it again.

So when the sales rep showed you the c9 was the mag in or out hi points have a mag hold open when there are no rounds if the gun is cooked with a empty mag in it will stay open

Much like Kel-Tec.

Made from surplus pot metal, but still better than diamond back guns.

With all the jokes I'm going to guess you wouldn't recommend this gun

How in the hell can you manufacture a gun that cheap? or they're taking a loss.

I had a first time women shooter next to be yesterday that just picked up this exact gun that the gun shop just sold here. Continual feeding problems. I helped her a few times and she asked for my recommendations. I replied with "tie in onto to your boat and use it as an anchor"

GYM:
I have two issues with your assessment of this fine weapon.
1) It is excellent for concealment. Due to its enormous size, a person can hide behind it. 2) Great for competition. I recently saw on The World's Strongest Man competition that they had to carry a box of Hi-Points up a hill (no one made it however).

exellent gun for concealment and Competition, sleek easy to do fast mag changes. Extremely accurate, very reliable, great for HD and Sd. Revolutionizing the handgun world. I would rely on it to save your life. Not mine yours. I also have a Bridge in Brooklyn that I am selling.

I use my for skeet shooting with CCI Shotshell ammo. I win every competition.

I'd honestly troll the depths of my city's pawn shops looking for a beat up old used Glock/M&P/PPQ etc. for twice the price before shooting one of these bricks again. Terrible. Good price though lmao.

The Hi-Point carbines are about the best bang for the buck in terms of a recreational shooter that's also good for home def. [Someone is about to pipe up w/ "12ga shotgun" here, to which the only reply is "some people are fun-size & need something easier to handle." I would absolutely recommend someone get one of the carbines over the Hi-Point pistols, but then again, the H-P pistol did better than a Glock in the IRtv mud test, so what are you gonna do? People are going to buy them regardless!

I have put over 3,000 rounds through a hi point 9mm.
Not 1 issue at all. Always goes bang. I leave the ccw to my glocks.

Is this a good gun? Point blank

At point blank range you can club someone to death with it!

Just kidding of course.

Ive had a Smith, Remington, Sig, Springfield and Ruger go to the shop for issues. Id be running out of brands if I dropped them all. I did drop KelTec and Remington however and I'll take Hi Point over either of those.

I bought it. Huuuge, but works and shoots straight. Had some coupons and a gift card from raise.com. Paid under $100 before tax. Can't beat that.

I received a $20 off $150 in the mail and email for Father's Day. So I just added some Herter's ammo to get over $150.

If I had a Cabela's near me I would absolutely pick this 45 version up for $129. If nothing else than to say 'yep, owned one' (and insert 'worked like a charm' or 'now wheel chok') :D

Traded my HP 45 in for a Glock 21. The mag kept falling out when shot. Not fun to have a pistol with a 1-2 round capacity.

Sure but hipoint has a great warranty

Yes they do. But I wouldn't want to explain that to someone breaking into my home :) . I did just buyt the HP9 for my truck. Will hopefully get my giftcard in the mail and try to use it (instead of my credit card) to pick it up next week. I will fire 20 or so rounds through it (to make sure the ammo shoots ok in it) and probably never have to use it again.

My brother has one of these, I fired thru one mag and wasn't comfortable with feeling the weight of the slide come aaallllll the way back over my hand with each shot.

These are actually hard to find when you want one. I bought one in 40 s&w a while ago because it was so cheap. Ugly and heavy, yes, but also reliable and cheap.

The $100 bill finish isn't included in this sale. What a bummer.

This is for all those people crying about SA and RRA who said they would rather buy a Hi-Point than a Springfield. Here is your chance...

0 votes

Unfortunately, I don't believe Hi-Points can be sold in IL due to the 'melting point' law (please correct me if I'm wrong). So we Illinesians can't buy HP and won't buy SF or RRA.
