I got 2 of these at $105 out the door, had to do it

How did you get $105? I still have a couple boxes of ammo from when I owned a 40, can’t understand why I wouldn’t buy one if these at $105 because…

Just got mine. Easy shooter. Low recoil helps maintain consistent accuracy and grouping at 20 yards. It’s a big sonofabirch though. Bigger than my Tracker.44

Comment date 6/26/21: Pair up a .40 Hi-Point pistol with the .40 Hi-Point Carbine and hunt deer or hogs with Buffalo Bore ammo or Federal Premium Ammo you can drop a white tail deer at 75 to 100 yards no problem with a responsible shot.

Still the best budget shooter on the planet. Picked up 3 more with the stimulus package. Now every room have some defense, these work well taped behind the toilet.

Open carry is coming to TX in 2016. You carry one of these and you would be making a statement my friend. This needs to be a movie gun. Unload your mag. Take it on and use it to stab with it while you pistol hammer skulls in with the rest of it.

The weight is sign of reliability. I always go for reliability.
If it does not work, you can always hit him with it.

Shoots any thing that fits in the barrel! Barrel is front heavy so can be used as a club when mag is empty! This is the best "I don't give a Damn" firearm made. Throw it in the truck - No problem. Throw it in the boat - No problem. Throw it - No problem! You can't hurt it's looks and it continues to shoot no matter how beat up it gets from bouncing around in the tool box! If the chamber is empty and you have no time to rack slide then beat them over the head with it. Slide will come back during the beating and load a bullet for you (just in case you need it) after the beating is given! This firearm will be worth its wait in gold after firearms are banned. If the government goes to confiscate your firearms which had you rather give up - Hi-point or your Colt Python?

Comment date 6/26/21: Good comment I'm not giving up my Colt of my Hi-Point. If you pistol whip someone with this bad boy they are going down.

I am a Glock man and made fun of my son for his purchase of this weapon. I ate my words after he hit bullseyes at 75 ft at the indoor range. Yes it weighs a ton but it works.

date 2-23 around 3:00 pm location Palachucola outdoor gun range in Estill Sc . I watched this gun fail over 9 different times. Shoot once then wouldn't fire. Shoot once then wouldn't feed. The poor guy who bought this was with a homeland security friend. I don't hate but i wouldn't take it if it was free. You ONLY need them when your life depends on them! Gunsnob whatever, ...I am a LIFE SNOB!

Had a 40 cal.-- would eat anything you put in the mag.
Only problem I had was "Limp Wrist" shooting would cause a hang.
Firm hold with both hands - No problems. Shooting one handed
required a tight grip. For the money I have never had a pistol that
would equal it, plus it has a lifetime guarantee!

they should update this. i don't think it would be too hard to make a double stack or stagger magazine. the mag is the thing people seem to complain about the most

Can't beat the price, and they have ardent supporters, so why not?

Yes these things are uglier than sin but if it honestly came right down to it I WOULD trust my life to one of these. I have the 9mm the .40 and the .45. No I don't love them I have plenty of guns that are far more expensive that I do love. But I will never sell one of them either. For less than $150 and one can afford a solid reliable home defense weapon. So all of the "gun snobs" bad mouthing them, I don't see you guys ponying up money so that those without a lot of money can buy something fancier that meets your "standards". So if don't have a lot to spend and you want a reliable firearm, buy one you won't regret it.

I have some decent handguns, Glocks, a Sig, a STI Ranger 2 1911, smith custom shop revolvers, etc, but I am not a "gun snob" (unless you think a pistol caliber carbine is a 'battle rifle', then i sound off)
I tried the trigger on one of these at my FFL and had to buy it just to see how it shot. First thing i did was take it apart and clean it, then got out the flitz polish and a polishing wheel, lubed it up and headed to the range. My first group at 10 yds was slightly smaller than the group out of my gen 4 glock 23. Shocking.
I fired about 150 rounds out of it and It didnt have a single failure. Would it be my first choice to carry? No, but I would feel comfortable using it for home defense. It would be a good gun to keep in a toolbox or your boat, barn, anywhere where you wouldnt want to keep your expensive pistols but would like to have something 'just in case'.
Also the recoil isnt bad at all due to the boat anchor weight of it.

Well they might be ugly, heavy, etc. But they are also sold out, so someone is buying them.

Some people need affordable home defense. I have 3 different hi points- the magazines can be an issue, but once the feeding lips are properly adjusted, you have an extremely reliable, accurate weapon with a lifetime warranty. I keep one in the laundry room, a humid place I would never keep an expensive gun. Just think how much safer our country would be if every law abiding citizen had one in their home. I have a lot, I mean a lot, of guns... these are ugly and heavy, but they are workhorses. For the price, they hold a special place in my heart.

These get so much hate but I do believe they have a purpose.

I wasn't really into guns at all but decided to give one a try and see if I wanted to start shooting and reloading, etc. Honestly I was worried it might not be an option for a hobby some day due to politics and laws, so I wanted to at least give it a go. I didn't have much money, well I was pretty broke actually.

I got the 9mm and really loved shooting and now 3 years later Im a collector, reloader, hobby gunsmith, C&R holder, have built two 1911s, etc.

Mines decently accurate and ive never had reliability problems with it. It's also pretty dang sturdy. Look at the torture test iraqveteran8888 did on it. Lots of high end guns would have failed before that thing did.

Is it pretty? NO
Is it ergonomic? NO
Is it light with a decent capacity for it's size: HELL NO

But out of all the guns which can be bought new in the price range of 150 or under, Cobra, Jimenez, etc. It's one that could be used for home defense if it's all a person could afford. Would I tell someone to save up a bit more and get something like a CZ82 first? Sure. But, this is 9x19 and has a lifetime warranty...

Im just saying they may deserve some hate, but not as much as they get.

I'll never sell mine. I can throw it in a tackle box, in my trunk, (not that I would) and never worry about the thing. I buy *some* tools at Harbor Freight, too!

It's fun to get the big clunker out and shoot every once in a while.

Agree 100%. I was a hater until I picked one up on a lark at a gun show. Heavy, ugly and reliable. If a person truly has less than $200 to spend on a NEW gun this is what they should get.

I think these are the modern day liberator pistols. That is all I would ever use it for. I too have wanted to own one just to see if they really are as bad as I hear.

Then again that is $120 in ammo/beer I could use instead...

I've often thought of picking one of these up, just because, but I'm embarrassed to go to my FFL & get it. If they were C&R I'd have one in every caliber offered. Does that make me a shallow person?

4 votes

Then pick one up! Who cares what anybody else thinks. I have the .380/9mm/.40 and .45. For the price, I couldn't pass them up. I've never had an issue with any of them. Free warranty as well.
