HERITAGE ROUGH RIDER 22LR/22MAG 6.5" (RR22MB6) - Born of the traditions of the Old West, the Rough Rider maintains much of the look and feel of the legendary Single Action Army revolver, only in a scaled down version. Chambered for the .22LR and .22 Magnum cartridges, the Rough Rider is manufactured using state-of-the-art precision machinery that assures its accuracy and reliability. The cylinder lock-up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want 'em.
The machined barrel is micro-threaded and inserted into the frame for the optimal barrel/cylinder gap to give you maximum ammunition performance. A hammer block mounted in the recoil shield provides extra protection and has a red dot indicator that lets you know when the gun is ready for action. A new, more authentic looking flat-sided hammer paired with new exotic cocobolo grips, makes the Rough Rider both functional and handsome. There are also other grip materials available, plus finish options include the attractive and durable Smooth Silver Satin. When it comes to the Rough Rider there are no shortcuts taken!

Just got this. I got the 4.75 bbl instead of 6 but same price. Whittaker was good to do business with. Very quick delivery. I've heard a horror story about one of these having no rifling (not from Whittaker) so be sure & check that before you take delivery. FWIW, I had a Texas FFL like Tayar77 described = $151 total including $2 insurance. I love the gun.

Yikes! FFL in Austin and San Antonio $15. No cost for background. If you have a CCL $10... There are places that try to charge $25-$30 like Academy but no one uses them...

The cheapest in my area is $30 plus background check fees of $10. Then any shipping costs on top of that. I'm in oregon

If it wasn't for the cost of paying a local ffl to recieve it then the background fees....I hate it. Always adds another $40/$50 to the price and by then I can buy locally for the same price or sometimes less.

Damn, FFL fees are 20-25 in the Raleigh NC area.

Same for Greensboro area. I think most of the state you can find FFLs to transfer for around 20-25 dollars, I wouldn't pay more than that. I've seen as low as 10 bucks advertised. Its crazy when I hear folks like this guy talking about what they pay.

About the gun, its very tempting. I had a chance to handle one of these at a local shop and it appeared to be a very nice firearm. That one only had the 22lr cylinder and he was asking the same price for it. I believe it was used, so this deal, with the 22lr and 22 magnum cylinders is pretty darn good. It'd certainly make a nice fun addition to the collection. I personally am a bit torn between one of these and something the likes of a Colt Navy replica.

I bought this at Field and Stream for $125 with just the 22LR cylinder a few months back, came with a coupon to order the 22 mag cylinder for another $25 (had to pay another $10 in shipping) took 2 months for the second cylinder to arrive....actually showed up yesterday. Haven't shot the new mag cartridges yet but am very impressed with the accuracy of the 22LR; I can hit a 10 inch plate about 50 percent of the time from 60-70 yards away firing from a single hand. Of course this has a really long sight radius but I am also a pretty shitty pistol shot!
