Shipping is NOT free. Website will add shipping charge to have item sent to their store for you to pick up. Confirmed with live chat that they will not waive shipping charge, even though home page states free shipping for orders over $25.
Academy fired its Tallahassee mgr for grabbing a thief who tried to run out of their store with a .40 Cal and ammo. Mgr violated policy by putting hands on the thief. Mgr. should get an award, not termination.
Huh? This is pretty standard retail policy for the last 20 years....which he agreed to when taking the job.. What would have happened if the guy shot or stabbed someone over a OBJECT worth only a few hundred dollars? Would have costed much more than that. What is a life worth again? In my early 20's I enjoyed kicking the shit out of a shoplifter or two (or dozens) however looking back it was BEYOND STUPID, there were more close calls than I can recall, and I could have aggravated an incident that cost human life. A simple property crime is not worth the risk of collateral human damage.
BTW, Academy rehired the dude.
Honestly had it have been anything other than a firearm I would have let the guy go. The manager could have potentially saved someones life by preventing him from leaving with a firearm.
Right. Someone stealing a firearm is already up to some devious shit, and now they're able to bump it up another level.
Agreed. The academy store in MS had a firearms delivery get "intercepted" while the truck was parked on location and lost dozens of ARs and hand guns, likely to fuel the growing crime in Memphis. I didn't hear about anyone being held accountable..
Thanks for posting. I got Cabelas to price match Academy and was able use my club points to pick this baby up! Best price (rifle+transfer) I’ve ever seen.
Can I get this shipped to a local Academy store and pick it up without a transfer fee?
These things are great, and NOT chinsy. I have owned the Armalite and the Henry and the Henry is built heavier. This is a good thing and a bad thing, depending on what you are going to use it for. I have the Henry now and love it. Really like the addition of the dove tail so you can mount optics. Also, this is the cheapest price I have ever seen.
It's been around a looong time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-7
I wonder how chinsy this thing is..... But it's pretty cool...Be nice if they could do it with higher caliber rounds... That'd be cool...
I got mine for $55 our the door at the gun store I used to work at, someone was trading it in and I bought it out right from them and gave it to my dad for Father’s Day. The thing is accurate but it is just a cool novelty gun at the end of the day!
If they had a threaded barrel, or it wasn't a pain to have it threaded, I would be in.....
