Wish that it was offered with, or it was even easy to get the barrel threaded. Darn sight gets in the way. Cool rifles though.

Have this and the ruger takedown. I say buy both if you can.

while okay in theory, the practicality of these rifles is not very good. They are quite cheaply made using some seriously flimsy plastic, not even the typical polymers we see on most firearms these days. To me something in a bit larger caliber say 9mm or even . 223 or if you want a small caliber a .22 mag would be the smallest Id go for a true "survival rifle". I understand these are made to be lightweight and portable however if thats the case then they should be called "pack rifles" not
"Survival rifles" At least with a 9mm or . 223 you can shoot larger game and or defend yourself proper. If I was wanting a pack rifle, Id buy a Ruger takedown before these junkers. One fall on the rocks and this rifle is busted. Just my opinion of course and you certainly are entitled to yours. I will respect your opinion, please do the same.

Never been in a sportsman’s warehouse but me and the grandson had a great lunch at the chili’s across the parking lot. Desert seemed expensive so we got sonic slushes after. Same parking lot also

"The AR-7 was designed as a survival rifle for foraging small game for food." Folks can't survive without food. When I was young my family and I ate squirrel and rabbit for supper on a regular basis. There were times we ate it so often that I reckon you could say we survived on it. Squirrel and rabbit dumplins is some mighty good eating. I like the ruger takedown but don't drop it in the water, cause unlike the AR-7, it'll sink like a rock. I think the AR-7 has it's place in this world and I'm thankful we have such a wide variety of firearms in the market to choose from that meets our individual needs and/or wants. The more the merrier in my book. If you're interested in the history behind the AR-7, check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArmaLite_AR-7...

edit: And with the gun grabbers on the warpath these days it might not be a good idea to even mention the "practicality" of any firearm. :)

I got one a bit back and I absolutely love it. Reliable, lightweight & compact. Also has some cool aftermarket parts available. The iron sights are also extremely accurate at 100 yards. Fun gun, highly recommend

just wish this was available in some bigger calibers such as .22 mag, .17hmr or even in 9mm. 9mm in these rifles would be even more popular then they are now. 9mm version would fly off the shelf.

No you are thinking of 9mm ammo. That stuff flies like an humming bird.

I bought this as a fun backpack gun for my son. It was really simple and lightweight. Works great and is accurate. Could be used to kill squirrels and rabbits in a pinch. Would I choose this over a Ruger 10/22? No, but this is lighter and if I had to go walking off into the woods it would be useful and easy to carry. Even if you already have a Ruger this is a great little gun for fun.
