Experience gained by HK engineers with the recent P30 pistol had a direct influence on the design of the VP9, but the VP9 breaks new ground with its integration of a unique striker firing system with an enhanced HK “light pull” trigger. The net result is trigger quality unequaled in any production striker fired handgun. It has a short, light take-up with a solid, single action type break followed by a short positive reset.
The VP9 uses HK’s ergonomic handgun grip design that includes three changeable backstraps and six side panels— accommodating all hand sizes. Molded finger grooves in the front of the pistol’s grip also instinctively position an operator’s hand for optimal shooting. Only HK handguns have such a customized grip. Although influenced by other HK models, the VP9 has all the hallmarks of the latest, state-of-the-art handgun. All controls are completely ambidextrous. Slide releases are present on both sides of the frame and the magazine release can be easily activated by left- or right-handed shooters.
A new feature is HK’s patented charging supports — simple components that are mounted on each side of the rear of the slide and provide better gripping leverage for racking the slide rearward. The charging supports speed reloading and make operating the VP9 easier for shooters with reduced hand strength. The VP pistols uses the proven P30 steel magazine; 15 and 10-round capacity available. The VP9 has an extended Picatinny MIL-STD-1913 rail molded into its polymer frame for mounting lights and accessories. The rail has been tested and certified to handle mounted accessories up to 5.6 ounces. The VP9’s proprietary captive flat recoil spring helps reduce the recoil forces effecting the operator and the handgun, improving shooter control during rapid firing and prolonging component service life.
HK’s famous cold hammer forged barrel — made from cannon grade steel — ensures long service life. Similar HK barrels on 9 mm P30 models have fired more than 90,000 rounds in endurance tests in 2010. The polygonal bore profile, with no traditional lands-and-grooves rifling, contributes to longer service life as well as a slight increase in muzzle velocity. The VP9’s machined steel slide is protected from corrosion and wear by HK’s hostile environment finish and all metal components, including springs and pins have superior metallurgy.

I received my mags in two weeks after I submitted the rebate and I got the tactical one from PSA
The threaded barrel and night sights on the tactical model make it worth the extra twenty bucks to me. Never I'm glad I fought off the urge to buy one at $900 when first offered. Night sights may not be a necessity, but after using them over 20 years I'm gonna stick with what works. The three dot painted-on glow in the dark sights look great in the shop, but who knows if the stuff will stick around? Or will it chip off? I know it felt to me like they can be plucked off like a scab. The triggers on these and other striker fired pistols all feel the same to me: long and mushy, heavy first shot, short fairly clean reset and steady click-pop-click-pop thereafter. However, the VP9 has so far had no grind, or sandy feel, and squeezing slowly it is totally quiet/smooth until the break, which feels just like the reset. Having owned seven or eight Glocks that have a consistently shitty first shot, I think Hk may have dialed this one in right the first time.

Better off getting the tactical one from psa for $549. It comes with threaded barrel and tritium night sights. I'm sure these r the ones that r worthless and have to charge under light to get to glow. FYI.

People read the description!!! I have a vp9 and yes they come with 2 magazines and the MIR is for FOUR free mags. This is a great deal as I gave $400 for mine last Black Friday (2016) with out the night sights when they was selling for $650-$725...
The LE models with the night sights usually comes with 3 mags.....not 2. Someone is getting a mag free.
It's not labeled as a LE model. It's a VP9 with 3 dot night sights.

Better deal at PSA with threaded barrel and tritium sites non-LE model
PSA has the threaded LE model with 6 mags after MIR for about the same price.
I will say this is one of the best striker fired polymer framed pistol I've ever owned. I carry and trust my life to it daily. Excellent ergonomics, extremely reliable, Uber accurate and a fantastic trigger. Converted many coworkers from their Glocks to the VP9. Love this weapon

It does not come with 3 magazines. It comes with 2 magazines
PSA deal was $499 shipped with 2-15 magazines, LE model. This one is not LE and only has one 15 round magazines.
I got the PSA deal, LE model with night sights for 499, mine came with 3 magazines.
You got lucky. I contacted PSA and HK and both said HK had some special deal with PSA and some other dealers and they only included 2 magazines for the LE model, for the HK VP9 special sales.
Was that for the one with the threaded barrel? I went with the non-threaded barrel.
