The Sig 516 Carbon TS does everything this gun does, for $700 less, and it's nearly 2 pounds lighter. Sig 516 Carbon TS came stock with a geissele 2 stage trigger, ambi controls, free float carbon fiber handguard with qd points, Hammer forged nitrided barrel 1x7 twist, extremely high quality flip up iron sights, and shipped with a nice 2 point sling and translucent lancer mag. Same piston system, ultra reliable and clean. The action is smooth as fuck. I've shot nearly 4000 rounds now without cleaning it. One malfunction so far which I attribute to a cheap mag I was testing out. I debated cleaning the gun, but I'm far too curious to see how long she will go. I just lube it up and she doesn't quit. I'll also pit the accuracy of the Sig against this HK any day of the week. I'm not really sure where the extra money is going in this HK. Oh wait, yes I do. It's for HK's ego. I mean they aren't even being shy about it. They are literally waving their dick in front of your face. Notice the dickmod handguard? That's their subtle way of showing you that they will put their dick anywhere they damn please. And you'll let them do it. Because you want that sweet sweet HK rollmark and the street cred that comes with it. That being said, HK makes some damn good stuff. Stuff you wouldn't hesitate to take to a warzone. Maybe that's worth the extra dough? Also the Sig 516 Carbon is difficult to find in stock anywhere, I think sig stopped making them? They still make the 516 patrol which is the same gun minus the geissele trigger and carbon fiber handguard. Comes with a heavy ass quad rail instead. But still, I paid $1400 out the door for a system comparable or arguably better than the HK given the extra goodies, and weight savings. So the point stands, unless the rollmark or the legend of HK is important to you, save your money and buy a similar gun for less money, with less dickmod.

I wouldn’t say that the sig is better but I’d say that it’s a damn good rifle and there’s no arguing that. Sig stopped making them awhile back because they weren’t garnering a lot of popularity even though they sure as hell deserve it.

Keymod? :( I'd spend $1300 for a DDM4V7 (95% of the gun the HK is) and put the other $900 into a good optic

I’m not an HK guy but how people can say this gun is not worth $2170 A gun is worth what someone is willing to pay I have shot one of these topped with a Leupold 4-12x50 and it’s the most accurate gun I’ve ever shot. If people are paying $2,000+ then that’s what it’s worth

Chumps, I can get 20 MOA accuracy at 15 yards with a diamondback model SHIT15. I only get 4 malfunctions per mag and the pot metal is only slightly deforming at 100 rounds.

Interesting comments. it's actually worth around $2K as that's what the market is paying. It may not be worth that amount to certain individuals, which is more a matter of opinion. I also would not purchase this rifle as prefer PWS for piston AR's or possibly a sig MCX. But comparing a factory manufactured piston driven AR with cold hammer forged barrel and 2 stage trigger to an $800 AR is a bit nieve/ridiculous. The cheapest factory made piston driven AR I'm aware of with free float HG is probably an Adams Arms Mid Tact Evo. Which is going to run you $800 on low end. There is no comparison between the two. Please provide an example if I'm mis informed. Heck a DI sig is going to run you $800. Mil-spec trigger, no ambi, no piston, no FF HG, no break, etc.... I guess it's German at least... Comporable AR=LWRC, POF, PWS, MCX, sig 516, etc... Just saying...

Pretty much paying $1200 for a rollmark because this rifle as it sits is worth maybe $800.

I disagree. It's worth $1400 at the least.

I'm really not an HK fan, and own none and want none of their guns. In fact, I would even say the HK 416 is NOT a good gun. I will say it's not worth anywhere near $800. It's military grade durability with accuracy you won't see out of a military grade rack grade rifle (like the Colt M4 (6920-type). The precision (accuracy) of the barrel alone sets it apart, which is supposed to be very good in these rifles.

Throw this in the group with Noveske, LMT, and Larue rifles. Whoever pays $2-$3k for a rifle from one of these snowflake brands is straight retarded when you can build a far superior rifle for less.

Something tells me you're a cheapo gun snob. It makes you feel wise to spent less, simply claiming it's just as good. Or even 'superior.' Lol! I haven't heard that one before actually.

You're a gun snob, in your way. But we'll say for argument's sake that I am as well. Well, just understand the military would likely throw your guns in the garbage can for having economy grade parts and assembly.
