I agree, the fake keymod is kinda dumb looking. The carry handle is removable thankfully. I have this same shotgun in 410, it has functioned perfectly with 50+ rounds of bird shot I put through it (got it for sparrow control when they are sitting on the house lot fence or posts). I only wish the 410 version was threaded for chokes. It is a plus this one is threaded and comes with F, IC, CYL. Another plus is the good price at Smokey Mountain (great customer service) with no CC fees, no tax for most, and free shipping!
Picked one up at Dunham's Sports Saturday for $440, actually pretty solid and seems well built. First mag flawless, second one had two stove-pipes, after that haven't had a hiccup in 100 rounds of cheap low brass 2-3/4" birdshot. Sub 10" group at 20 yards with the middle sized choke (I think it had "XXXX" on it but not 100 percent sure), would surely ruin a burglar's day. Now, due to the brand / price point I am not sure this should ever be trusted as a self defense weapon unless you have hundreds or thousand of rounds through it would very few failures.
Also, due to the bullpup frame this has no muzzle climb and little recoil, even for a semiauto shotgun. DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE A LEFTY AND CAN'T SHOOT RIGHT HANDED.
While I can appreciate the comfort of a bullpup shotgun, I just cant get over the god awful looks of this one. The "fake" keymod looking gimmick, the fake "fluted" barrel shroud, the ugly AF carry handle etc all make this just look ridiculous... like some cheap toy in my opinion. I am all about standing out and the next best thing but this just seems overboard to me. Theres too many others out there that have a less toyish look to them. This is my opinion and your entitled to yours, I will not disrespect your opinion, I ask you do the same.
