From the product sheet: “Ingredient Name: Base Oil-Highly Refined, Methacrylate copolymer, Residual Oil, Petroleum Solvent Refined”

I looked up these ingredients. Methacrylate copolymer is a cosmetics and food additive. I believe it’s what makes this stuff sticky. The rest is just good old oil except for the solvent which acts as a cleaning agent.

It's basically ATF fluid and kerosene...a variation of Ed's Red bore cleaner..They just add methacrylate as a thickener.
At these silly prices, you might as well buy a bottle of Krytox™ .which is the highest performing lubricant available.

Not sure what app the poo-pooing here is. Amazon reviews are a great source of info (better than here, it seems). As on reviewer stated, the shit ain't for everyone. The people who buy this over regular CLP are the same type of people who can actually *appreciate* a 4K TV over a 1080P one. Personally, I got it for my EDC, as I'm tired of gun lube that doesn't stay where you put it.

DEFINITELY not automatic transmission fluid. That person is a fucking idiot. If you were to put this in a transmission, shit would likely break.

Agreed. This stuff is pretty good. It’s a middle ground between traditional thin gun oils that run/drip off and grease which is too thick for some parts. I like this stuff

It's repackaged Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). That's why it's red.

Helpful hint...when changing the tranny fluid in your car, use a professional. Something tells me you may try to use Cherry Kool-Aid as an alternative fluid 'just because it is red'.

Any thoughts on using a high friction lube (for your guns) like the ones that come for hair clippers? ie Wahl?

At over $800 a gallon you're gonna need a low friction lube cause you're getting f#cked.

What a joke. Wake up folks.

Math check.
11.95 for one half ounce (call it 12 to make it easy) so figure $24 per ounce.
x
128 ounces in a gallon
=
$3072 per gallon
