42 inches is a way too long for rimfire with 16" barrel. 32 would work just fine
Not all rimfires have 16" barrels. My Marlin n25 needs a 42" case.
Their 10/22 case is exactly the same but 40" & 4 times the price.
This is just like their 10/22 case which is 40" & 4 times the price.
