Why do others substutute other inferior/untested steels? To decrease the cost of the part. Carpenter 158® is a high technology steel that is very expensive and can only be ordered in 20,000 lb mill runs. It is the only steel allowed by the US (and Foreign) Militarys for the very demanding needs of this high stress, critical part.

*NOTE: BARRELS & BOLTS MUST BE PROPERLY CHECKED FOR HEADSPACE PRIOR TO USE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH*

LIFETIME WARRANTY:

Our products carry a lifetime, no questions asked, warranty. Simply put... Should any of our products fail, return it to us for a brand new replacement.

Got the BCG replaced and it was pretty quick. Looks great, and glad they did the right thing taking it back to exchange, restored my confidence in Gorilla Machining customer service, will keep shopping!

Well, seemed like a good deal until it arrived with a gas key that is completely not staked at all and rough tooling marks. The customer service reply says I could return it for an exchange, so I ask for a return label and get no further reply . I don’t feel like I should pay to ship back a defective / not correct product.
Follow up, after a few days and this review I’ve got a reply and a return label - we’ll see how it goes

Also find it odd that they put in a head space check on what should be an otherwise swap stock product. Might be min-spec, sorry mil-spec, but maybe that's too much to ask.

Yeah you don’t really see such a disclaimer much elsewhere. Most products I’ve got from them are ok , one barrel from them did not headspace with any of several new bcg’s
