Why would you do that in the first place? A slide is meant to go forward on its own when the slide is fully back. If you can't remember if your gun is loaded or not, pulling the slide back 1/4 is not nessesary to get a peak at the brass round. Maybe you need a 'one in the chamber' indicater.

If you pull the gun on someone who’s in top of you and the front of the slide bumps into the body of the attacker, the slide will stay pulled back about 1/4” preventing the striker from reaching the primer. Thats why this is

That’s why this is such a big deal to me. A slide should always return to full battery under normal conditions unless there’s an obstruction of some sort on the rails, such as sand or other

I own two G21 SF Gen3 and I must say, that they both share the same problem, when mags are fully loaded and a round in the chamber, if you rack the slide 1/4” and ride it forward, the slide will stay out of battery, sorry to say.
