The Glock 19 Gen 5 pistol in 9mm is ideal for a more versatile role due to its reduced dimensions. The new frame design without finger grooves still allows to instantly customize its grip to accommodate any hand size by mounting the different back straps. The reversible magazine catch and ambidextrous slide stop lever make it ideal for left and right-handed shooters. The rifling and the crown of the barrel were slightly modified for increased precision.

Only if you want the Agent.

Otherwise: the undercut moon cut out on the mag well is gone on all new Gen5 models,
slide serrations at the front of the slide are on all new Gen5 models.

Thank you!! So this one has the half-moon. I didn't realize all new GEN 5 have the front serrations. Are they all made in USA now or can you still get the PA-serial numbers manufactured in Austria?

PA Austria versions are still being imported, yes.

Is this a good deal? I've been waiting for the g19 g5 to become available again. Also, does anyone know if that half moon cut out is still being manufactured in these?

This is an OK deal and a better deal if you were going to get the night sights anyways. Those type of sights are pretty good. If you buy them separately it'll be a little more expensive and maybe even more if you have to pay for sights installation. and in this current pandemic and social climate, finding a gun you want is a deal in itself.

Average unfortunately. These should be $450 guns. $500 with night sights.

A gen5 Glock19 was not going for 500 with ameriglow nightsight, maybe with standard glock nightsights though.

Id say standard pricing since palmetto charges shipping. So with shipping tax and FFL you're looking at close to $700

One single guy at the fbi - since gone and replaced - asked for the stupid sharp gen 2 cutout in the front of the grip. No one else wanted it, but he was the right person to ask at the time - years ago.

As a product designer in the industry, I hate when Glock (and others) make stupid, stupid decisions such as removal of the finger grooves, adding the stupid front cut, and lack of a rail on their smaller guns.

Anyone with a knife or Dremel can make that front cut, leave it up to the end user. You can't add the material, but you can remove it. Same with the finger grooves. You can cut them off, (or custom fit them to your hand, that's what I do, and it's something you gotta experience) but you can't add them back. Finger grooves that fit your hand are BETTER than none, as they give you a more consistent grip through more indexing points, so that your first shot is more accurate. This, in addition to more surface area and contouring gives you a better grip, in order to control the pistol better, making your follow up shots better. Also, finger grooves can be done right from the factory! We've seen it on guns like the vp9, sar9, ppq, etc.

I'm a Glock guy - but holy shit, Glock has fallen behind. Definitely not perfection, and that attitude has led them to be blind to improving on their awesome design.

All of those are great low-end handguns. Getting rid of the shitty finger groves was the right thing to do and allows the handgun to feel natural in more hands without paying some ding dong to take a dremel to it. Also having more grip, forward serrations, and a bevelled slide are steps forward in my opinion. Not sure what kind of designing you do but I can guarantee that I wouldn't like your "innovative" plastic creations.

Does this have the notch thing everyone hates? I'm looking for a 19 G5 w/o the notch.

It's just the 19 Gen 5 AmeriGlo night sights version with a different magazine release and an "M" on the slide. Same price too.

Well, the night sights are a valuable addition explaining at least some of that $100. I put a different brand on my Gen 4 for $80 plus a little of my time.

Will this model fall out of my pants while doing backflips in the club?

And that guy was given a good talking to. There is a government class and a class for everyone else. Government can shoot someone in the club after picking up their dropped gun and get a talking to. Everyone else can hardly carry a gun in Colorado without being afraid of getting locked up.

Why does this have that dumbass cut out in the grip?

The cut-out is to facilitate stripping the magazine from the frame in case of a potential magazine stuck in the frame jam. I have never seen this type of malfunction on a 9mm but once on an old gen 2 model 22 glock .40 s&w, however it was cleared by just pulling in the exposed magazine base plate. I think if your magazine falls in the mud and it’s a full magazine, then you jam it into the gun, it may become challenging to remove quickly for a reload.

Another DHS component will also be transitioning to this model in 2021, that will mean a lot more sig 229 DAKs in .40 s&w on the surplus market in 2022 ish time frame. Maybe by then .40 s&w will become desirable again? God bless America and enjoy these days, we are in the best time in history for target shooting.

Customs and Border Enforcement will be getting the G47, which is basically a 19X except it can take a G17 length slide or G19 length.
