Considering SOCOM and the FBI just switched over to the Glock 19 I highly doubt they will be slowing down. There are a number of other military "departments" looking to switch over to the new generation as well. Considering gen 5 has not even been released yet and it's getting this type of hype Glock will only continue to gain following. Heck there are a number of the top military units in the world looking at the new gem 5 Glock 19 including the UK. I saw someone saying they will drop into a category similar to other imports like canik???? Hmm, I didn't know FMK or caniks were taking over the world. On a side note I don't think I would put CZ into those "import" categories either. Love them or hate them nothing is changing regarding their , popularity, price, or use. I'm not a fan either but the Glock 19 is one of the top selling guns of my generation. Heck I just paid $399 for a 42. Why? Because I trust my families life with it everyday that I don't carry my 229 CA SAS. So not even us bad mouthing them on this "comment"section of slick guns will slow them down;). Regarding their prices I don't think there is another mass produced handgun that holds its value better. I also like that they control prices. This means retailers have to be "fair" to be competitive. Which in turn Makes shopping for them much easier in my opinion. I know what the price is and the fluctuations are minimal so I don't have to worry about the bottom dropping out of them 6 months down the road. When I picked up my 42 it was $399 pretty much everywhere I looked. Local and online stores. Obviously that number will come down eventually. But if I wanted to sell it today I would get pretty much what I paid for almost 2 years ago. I will say $400 for a 380 is a bit ridiculous but that's what the market was set at and that's what people pay. Me included. Anyways these pricing items are based more around my observations than fact. So I might be crazy... Although $400 or $450 sure beats sigs options starting at $500 but no one ever calls them out:). Sigs seem overpriced to me more so than Glocks. This coming from someone that loves Sigs and has them in both short and long form... Any how enough of my rant...

I entirely agree, however I can understand it.
I think they should be priced at $399.99. But you can get them for $499 and in exchange for that extra $100 you get what equates to a lifetime no B.S. transferrable warranty and excellent customer service. Because of the reliability and warranty these hold their value very well.
This is what has me considering a Glock for my next purchase.

eh, it's hype. Ruger has the best CS in the business besides MAYBE springfield (or the elite 1911 makers like Nighthawk) and both can be had for less than a glock and are just as good.

No, a Ruger is not 'just as good'.

correct, probably BETTER (I kid I kid), Glocks are nowhere NEAR "perfection" like the ads say. I'd take an M&P over a glock any day of the week, and XDM twice on sunday, but a ruger .... we might have some whiggle room. Ruger's don't have the fit and finish of the big boys, but their guns are built like veritable tanks and are reliable as hell. I've NEVER had a ruger ever be unreliable to me. even the el cheap P89. Glocks. 2 guns at least 3 times back to the factory. broken rails over time, bad RSA's and a couple of other small probelms. Don't get me wrong, I like glocks as much as any gun in my collection. I have 3 right now, including a gen 4 G19, and depend on one as my nightstand gun. They're good reliable guns, but the days where they were the "best" in the polymer world is long gone

Don't buy now, price will drop lower in 6 months. Unless there is some stupid shooting again and the goberment decides to attack our 2nd amendment again. I bet in a year or two we will see these Glocks drop to CZ, FMK, CANIK, and other import pistol prices.

I have to admit, YouTube Glock hype did it's job... this gun or any other Glock for that matter, shouldn't be priced over $379.00. HK VP9 during black Friday was $469 and LE version $499. Not looking to start "glock vs ..." debate, just an opinion that there are tons of other brand names way better than Glock and priced for less. Heck, there are 1911s for $300... but like Apple, Glock should enjoy this hype and milk as much $$$ as possible til' people realize that they have been brain xxxx all these years ;)

Plain and simple as it gets....Glocks rock! No hype necessary when you make a great product these days because quality, hell basic competence, is in short supply!

So when is this going to happen? Glock has been around forever and get the most free advertising of any manufacturer out there. Genius how they aggressively place guns in any type of movie possible. The guns fire, plain and simple. They are also extremely easy to field strip and clean. Yes they are blocky but they have a perceived value that the reality lives up to

Glocks are excellent utilitarian firearms.

They are hyped, but one thing I'd say is they work. Reliable.
I don't own any myself. The gun feels like it's slipping out of my hand, and I have large hands. I like a thinner grip without the hump on the back strap.
