For AR-15 / M16 type rifles, optical sights provide superior performance at longer ranges, but iron sights can be more effective for close-range engagements. However, attaching an optical sight either prevents the use of iron sights or results in a setup that produces a front sight "shadow" on the optical image, and/or results in problematic transitions from optical to backup iron sights. Not anymore. Rapid Transition Sights (RTS) provide shooters with the quickest possible transition between longer- and closer-range target acquisition, greatly increasing their efficiency and effectiveness in battle and competition. These sights mount directly to a weapon's Picatinny rail, offset from center by approximately 45°. This unique offset position makes transitioning from optical to iron sights simply a matter of quickly canting the weapon with your wrists and locking on to the target. There's no removing a hand from the weapon or making a manual adjustment, and no cluttered field of vision or iron sights blocking the optical sight. Just smooth, quick transitions that could mean the difference between winning or losing a competition, or more importantly - a gunfight. Weight: Rear sight - 3 ounces (85g) / Front sight - 1.5 ounces (44g)

Any recommendations for lefties?

last time i looked at them they did look like the would work for lefty's but they'd be backwards if you know what i mean. The controls (flip peep sites and adjustments) would function opposite. BUT i think they would work ok for lefty.

I got these a few months back for my piston driven 5.45x39 AR. They're the back up in case my Red dot ever fails. After about 1200 hot rocks down range I have no complaints. Just make sure to use some loctite when putting them on. My huldra arms upper has some kick and the rear sight did come lose after the first few hundred rounds. But after that no worries.

And as a side note, a friend of mine didn't like the wobble that someone else mentioned in the rear sight so he replaced the guts with that off a milspec sight he had and no more wobble.

Rear has wobble when extended, but at short ranges or holding over is should be solid. I've thought about replacing the guts, I'm glad to hear that works. Mounting 45¤ Mbus will cost @ least $8-9 per rail $40 rear $35 front = $91 or ger cheaper flip sights and reduce it down to $36-40

What kind of car do you drive?
Do you own computer or TV, where are they made?
As long as they are good quality for the price, I don't care where they made.

I couldn't believe how pitiful these were when they arrived... really makes me raise an eyebrow at some of the recommendations on this site :S

I have a set, and for $20 I can't see anything better. They work just fine, though the windage adjustment on the rear sight is pretty loose and sloppy, it's fine for 50-yards and closer.

What is it about them that you dislike so much for a $20 set of metal sights?

You need to have a standard in regards to what you'll put on a weapon. These are airsoft grade.

Agree 100%. Some of us are just particular. Call it pride, call it arrogance, stubborn or whatever you want. Nothing Chinese gets near my guns, not even so much as a sling swivel or the safes they're kept in. That's the standard.

Some complain they can't afford American or quality European, I say you can't afford not to. Some things are impossible not to buy Chinese, guns glass and accessories aren't three of them. No excuses.

I should add that I don't have these "Cobra" versions, but the "Venom Tactical" which, at least from the photos, appear to be the same sights.

Maybe someone can confirm this one way or the other. The "Venom" sights seem to work just fine for offset BUIS.

They're all-metal, machined aluminum, hold zero just fine and cost $20. I have them on my AR that has a TA31RCO ACOG on top, if that gives an idea of what "standard" we're talking about, and they work just fine and don't look altogether different from $250 Dueck sights.

What makes them "Airsoft grade"? The price? The fact that they're not as good as Dueck's?

Seriously, I'd like to know.

I'd agree that Dueck's are overpriced. I settled on XS XTIs (not in love with them, but a good choice in the current market).

The set I received, besides being sloppy in adjustment as you mentioned (isn't that reason enough to be Airsoft grade?), had a rear sight peephole that was anything but circular.

Would I take them over no sights at all? Yes. But I'd also take a Taurus handgun over no handgun at all.... thank goodness I have better options!

Nothing more then airsoft garbage. Buddy bought 3 sets and not were true and at 100 yards getting get better then a 12" group. And our normal target are bowling pins at 150 yards with iron sights. So it is not the shooter.

I know this comment is 4 months old, but WTH? Why would ANYONE run 45* OFFSET iron sights for long-range shooting. These are made *specifically* for running a magnified optic on top for anything 50-yards and over, with these strictly as BACKUP for CLOSE-RANGE targets!

For their INTENDED purpose, these $20 sights work perfectly, I can run 3-4" groups with my bad eyes and shaky hands at 50 yards -- All. Day. Long.

I don't get some of these comments. They're not a $200 set of primary sights. They're meant specifically to augment a magnified optic, which is why they're at 45*. No one in their right mind would use these as their primary iron sights.

. I have a review on amazon. Mine weren't machined properly. Had to use a side post on the front sight to try and attempt finding zero. Maybe I was an exception, I just can't see people giving this product a good review.. ..these wont be staying on the gun.

I picked these up awhile ago and they are pretty good for the money. I may have gotten a good one and half are bad, but they adjusted well and seem fairly sturdy. Put them on my AK with a quad rail fore-end, and was hitting an 8 inch gong at 100 yds with out much trouble at all.
I'm not shooting competitively in 3gun or anything like that, so for my purposes this is fine.

Time will tell as far as reliability, but I put some locktite on them and will be fine tuning them in a couple weeks.
People should remember these are BACKUP sights, not primary. But in the event your scope/red-dot/primary sights become damaged or disabled, you will still be able to hit the targets within reason.

I went through 2 sets of these sights. Couldn't get either set to zero properly.

Thanks for the review, they sound a lot more promising than the reviews on Amazon and for the price its probably worth the gamble. I think i might get a set for a recce rifle ive yet to put an optic on. Currently it has a set of mbus but im not a big fan of how they dont lock in place in the upright position.

Read the Amazon reviews before you buy this, seems like these are real hit and miss on quality....

45 degree seems pretty awkward, although admittedly I haven't tried them yet. I had some eBay bucks to spend (about $30 bucks worth) so I got the set from there. Should be here within a week or so. We'll see how they work out...

Why in the fist are these things so god damn expensive anyway?

I'm in the wrong business...

these are cheap as hell compared to the Dueck Defense sets......I'm pretty sure these are Chinese made copies, let us know the quality once you get them....

I just got my set. Actually, other than the adjustments being pretty stiff, i think they are a nice piece. Very comparable to my MBUS sights.

There are a few quality control things, but nothing to affect the useability of it, just some small finish scratches, or a burr on the edge of the housing. I would put these on my good optic rifle. I would not spend $200 for a nicer finish Dueck version. I've handled those at Brownells (I live very close), and the difference is negligible. Also remember, these are Back-Up sights, not primary sights.

If I needed another set, I would get these again. Now I'm going to break in the adjustments and dab a little CLP on the threads.

Also, the long range pinhole sight flips up quite nicely when transitioning from the larger keyhole size. Mounting is pretty standard and feels very sturdy. The front sight is very light. I doubt i will notice it's there.

If nothing else, these are going to be fun to train with when i can afford some .223 again.
