Description

After years of research and development ... and finally meeting our quality goals, we are proud to announce our new FX-9, 9mm Semi-Auto AR style rifle.

The FX-9 (Freedom Xtreme 9mm Carbine) rifle is a joint venture between Classic Firearms and Freedom Ordnance and at the risk of tooting our own horn we absolutely got this one right. Not only is this rifle gorgeous but it is also a functional workhorse that shoots as good as looks. We have tested this rifle exclusively not only here on premise but also during torture test at the factory and no matter what we have thrown at it the FX-9 has taken it and continued to work. It is built to be tough as a humvee with the classic lines of a Corvette.

No shortcuts were taken in the production of this fine rifle with full attention to detail from butt to break. Rifle features a custom improved and extended mag release, full billet aluminum upper and lower, U.S. made low profile 13" free float M-Lock rail, and AR-15 style muzzle brake. Both upper receiver rail and forearm rail are fully T-marked for the entire length of the upper. Accepts Glock 9mm mags and come with 1 high-quality SGM Tactical 33 round magazine. The FX-9 carbine has a familiar set of operating controls for the avid AR-15 user, it accepts AR-15 stocks and buffers tube assemblies, AR-15 trigger groups including the CMC Triggers drop in trigger line, as well as most free float AR-15 rail assemblies.

The FX-9 uses standard double stack Glock style 9mm magazines and comes standard with a 33 rd double stack mag. When we designed the FX-9 our goals were reliability, affordability, and familiar controls for the user. The FX-9 is machined from billet material, anodized type III aluminum components and full hard nitride steel components including the barrel, bolt, ejector, last round hold open, feed ramp and extractor for extended wear properties and corrosion resistance.

The upper and lower receiver are more than 1 inch shorter than a standard AR-15 upper and lower receiver making it more compact and lighter than a standard mil-spec AR-15 design.

The FX-9 upholds extreme reliability with a wide range of ammo including many hollow point designs for self-defense, full metal jacket, and copper plated bullets. We do not recommend the use of non-jacketed/plated ammunition as unprotected lead can cause fouling and buildups that plated and jacketed bullets do not.

Rifles are fully warrantied for one year by Freedom Ordnance. The FX-9 Rifle is fully endorsed and exclusively distributed by Classic Firearms.

I have owned an fx-9 for 2 years now. Close to 5k rounds. Never 1 FTE or FTF period. Simple blow back and little more recoil than .223. This gun is accurate for a 9mm and all my buddies love to shoot it. Freedom Ordinance's customer service is AAA+. Fixed my fuck up and had it back to me in less than a week...love this company. Buy 1, you wont be disappointed.

The upper and lower are not milspec and are around an inch and a quarter. That in mind you can still change out stock or brace on pistol version, trigger (but they dont recommend due to accidental bump fire, pistol grip, handguard and barrel. Milspec charging handles will NOT fit this either.

I support what many other owners are saying: this is a great firearm. It shoots all ammo reliably (even my light competition loads), and it is as accurate as 9mm can allow it. It has last round bolt hold open, which is rare for AR-9s. It is very gassy, so you get a lot of smoke/gas when you shoot. And it is not mil-spec as it looks, so many AR aftermarket parts won't work on it. Overall, I love this gun. I find it hard to believe the PSA offering is any better.

The pistol version looks nice.

Sweaty Ben has good prices on things like barrels, then charges you an arm+leg for shipping.

If your not going to drop the price then quit posting this listing. This is gun deals not an extension of your online store.

It's most likely for age verification. Put on your foil helmet and rest easy friend...it'll be ok.

Beware. This website (classic firearms) asked me to send them a copy of my drivers license for some magazines i ordered. Never has any website made such request. Highly suspicious to me. Either its a scam or they report to the police of sales Whatever the case, i dont like it.

Someone asked if this is a blow-back operated gun. The answer is yes, this is a straight blow back gun. There is no DI or piston gas system. Functions essentially the same way a Scorpion does.

PSA has their 9mm on sale for same price this weekend. And it's free shipping and more quality

I would not say it’s more quality at all. Maybe equal but these are awesome carbines for the money. Everyone that has reviewed them loves them. Love mine as well. So fun

I own one and love it. Put an inexpensive Red Dot on it and this thing is way more accurate than expected. I also own a Glock so the interchangeable magazines are nice. My 70 year-old father can't get enough of it. He has a blast at the range. At 50 yards (about as far as he can see), the bullet finds bullseye damn near every time.

The scorpion carbines seem to be coming down. I have the pistol version with kak blade brace and love it. Super cheap mags never had any issue. Run it through my close quarter contests all the time. Also run well suppressed. Gonna spend a couple hundred more maybe. I've seen the pistols down to $700 and below is some circumstances.

Junk compared to even PSA carbine. No brass deflector so brass in your face. Picky on ammo. 2 range trips for me and sold it to buy another PSA 9

I have never once had brass in my face. It will shoot the worst of ammo. Either you got a lemon or never owned one in the first place.

Try the SiG MPX!?! There's a reason it's so expensive and touted as an excellent suppressor host and actually really innovative in an SBR format, because it's short stroke gas piston operated... And also why it's actually considered an innovative design in a full auto actual SMG role...

SIG is always too proud for their stuff. CZ Scorpion is just as much rifle as MPX and mags are 18 not 75-100

Absolutely wrong. I love CZ but have been extremely disappointed at the quality of the metal used in the Scorpion. It is nowhere near the quality of the SIG MPX or CMMG... BTW, the FX9 is a great pcc for the money.

Ugh..... try the SiG MPX!?! That's why it's so expensive and touted as a great suppressor host because it's short stroke gas piston.....

Short stroke gas piston on a little 9mm carbine is just added complexity that is not needed. 9mm carbines function perfectly fine with simple blowback operation. It is tried and true; reliable and bulletproof. They do not need a complicated gas system. Buy a Scorpion for half the price of an MPX. The Scorpion also makes a better suppressor host because the MPX gasses you in the face when suppressed.

I know the barrel is proprietary. I asked them that exact question. I believe the hand guard and stock/tube are standard. The receiver is an inch shorter than standard receiver so I'm guessing that too is proprietary.

Is this a "blow-back" action??? JRC makes a 9mm carbine, but it fouls easily because of the way it uses recoil of the cartridge to push the bolt back and load the next round...this permits a lot of gas and residue to enter the breech, requiring a cleaning on a fairly regular basis...

Never seen a 9mm AR platform weapon that wasn't blowback. If someone makes a DI model in 9mm it's news to me.

I'm actually not sure you could even make one work with a gas system given the pistol cartridge pressure vs something like a 223. Maybe someone knows better tho

I still want to know if this is a "blow back" action? If so, ok...how easy is it to disassemble and clean as needed?

Hmm think I would prefer the CMMG for around $80 more. But maybe I just need to tey one of these first...

I would like to know where you can get a CMMG 9mm rifle for under $700 as I would like to have one at that price.

Nice. Me want one of these fx-9. I would like to know exactly what parts are proprietary. Would any AR 9mm barrel fit in case of future sbr?

Does anyone have any experience with this manufacturer? I really like the fact that they accept glock mags, makes it easy to pack up and take to the range.

I also don't see any warranty info...am I missing this somewhere?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In the description at Classic it states:

They make an AR15 Platform Belt Feed that is pretty slick.

This looks good. Wonder if it works as good as they say.

I wonder if this is Mag Tactical under a new name?

Mag was bought by Fostech, IIRC.

It is not Mag Tactical. Check out their website, they sell some nice belt feed items for AR.

This looks interesting. I'm considering a sub2000Gen2 but this caught my attention. Although I would hope for more than a 1 yr warranty. Hmmmm
