A stock would definitely make it an SBR because at that point it is designed to be fired from the shoulder. Theoretically, an arm brace would be totally kosher, although I haven't seen an ATF letter specifically addressing one on this gun.
MY question, though, is if this is considered not a pistol, then wouldn't an AK pistol with an arm brace also be not a pistol? Wouldn't that also mean you can put a foregrip on it as well?
Unfortunately it is the CA version which only comes with a 1 (one) round mag, yep a single shot mag and the awesome bullet button so it's a pain to put in the next round.
Oh these, officer? These are my extra large 1 round mags. What, they take more than one round?! Damn! They must all have broken during shipping....
So are they aware that this is technically an SBR now due to the fore grip on the gun??? This will require a tax stamp I believe. Someone correct me if I am missing something here.
This is not an SBR or AOW. It has a barrel length less than 12 inches but an overall length greater than 26 inches and fires a projectile smaller than .501 inches from a rifled barrel. This classifies it as a 'firearm' under NFA regulations and is not subject to NFA restrictions. Here is a copy of the ATF letter to Franklin Armory (of which a copy is included with every shipment of this gun).
So because it is greater than 26 inches can you add a stock to it? or would you have to only use one of those sig arm stabilizers?
