My new colt pattern has a plastic cap at the conventional CH port, a plastic shell deflector, andddd a plastic charging handle...handle.

LRBHO works great. I went with the foxtrot mike ar9 lower mated with this upper. I run glock mags and a fostech echo trigger. She eats wolf steel case like a dream no malfunctions so far 600 rounds. Now if I could find more food for it at a reasonable price.

I don't understand why re-posting this when they don't even have the back-order from 3 weeks ago in stock yet.

I don't know that anybody knows what their doing anymore. Quote from the owner at my lgs was "the whole industry is about to shit the bed". They've gone from "1000's of guns in stock" to less than 100 out on display.

How compatible is this with a non LRBHO receiver?

It's not necessarily about lrbho or not, but different proprietary milling specifications having to do with the position of the mag and the feed ramp. My gen 2 "hybrid" psa upper wouldn't even close because of how high a feed ramp was on a colt conversion build. It did end up working on a dedicated glock lower. YMMV with this FM, but that's a pretty good price for the package.

Lrbho really has more to do with if it can engage the mag follower to stop the bolt, rather than anything with the upper.

The only "milspec" ar9 is probably going to be the og colt, but good luck finding one at a good price.

how does this match the LRBHO PSA lower? I've been sitting on one since 2016 so I'm on that generation.

I would probably stick with PSA's offerings. I had feed ramp issues with the opposite situation, PSA upper and conversion lower, and their "solution" was to buy their "proprietary" lower. Gen 2, I think 2017ish, was the worst with compatibility.

Yup same company! Their patented lrbho has to be the best out there right now. I just picked up the pistol lower from brownells. Very quality product!

Also, if brownells is on backorder, AIM just put the FM 5” upper on sale for $299 shipped.

Brownells charges too much. Their sales are still 10x msrp. This opinion is mine, based on my experience

It is not their sales tax- it is the greedy state they live in taxing us- just want to make sure and blame the proper entity-remember that taxation when you vote

FM Products has one of the most reasonably priced LRBHO lowers on the market. Look at the bottom of the page for other FM Products lowers.

Be aware FM states a 6.5oz buffer is included but Brownells sent one with a 5oz. FM actually states in their guide that at least a 6oz is required for reliable function. It worked fine my first day out but I only had 115gr ammo. Trying to find a heavy buffer no longer than 3.25" is quite the task these days.
